Metal file new and old

Why did Vic replace the old file, is the new file much better? What is wrong with the old version? Anyone own both to make a comparison in real use? Just a curious thought.

The new ones are a lot more rust resistant and more aggressive too.
You should seriously visit vicfan.com. All the hoopy froods are doing it.

So the old file is not made from stainless steel and will actually rust?! Wow.

The new ones are a lot more rust resistant and more aggressive too.

It has to do with the metal hardness. A file must be harder and so when it is treated it allows rust or stains more easily.

I would say that yes, it's better. I don't know how long the stainless steel ones last though, maybe they won't last as long? Or maybe they will, I don't know but I'm curious
