I bet it's gold spray paint.  I painted some rocks when I was a kid to make a bag of gold nuggets... looked kinda like that finish to me.

Yeah, sure it is paint, just check the tools near the pivots, they had lost that gold tone from opening/closing the knife.

While I agree it does look cheapo, the springs appear to be gold colored too. I do think that would have to be done before assembly and therefore it is either done at the factory or by a private person as a MOD.

I noticed the springs too.  Aren't some of the Michel Jordi components 'gold' as well?  Not saying for a second this is the same, but it wouldn't be totally unprecedented.

The corkscrew and keyring are gold plated, and there's a gold medallion on the back of the Michel Jordis.

That knife reminded me of Harold's Club in Reno, where they took a bunch of old junk guns and gold plated them. The rust pits were visible from 50'. Probably didn't matter since I was the only one in the place looking at them; everyone else was fixated on the slots.

allowing that the blades are actually gold plated, and not painted, it's a shame that they didn't use brass liners to complete the look. the 2nd picture has a light reflection that i doubt you would get from paint? curious, indeed?
