SAK with fewest layers and pliers
on: April 09, 2012, 09:28:19 AM
Subject line says it all.  I'd like to know what model to buy for parts for a possible mod.

Right now I've got two mods in mind; 1) Cyber Yeoman, 2) Explorer with pliers.

I think either would be a good for EDC pocket carry.

... if it is just to be a donor, you may do better on ebay looking for any really beat up Vic SAK with pliers.

The Special Mechanic/Mechanic Jr. is the answer to your question, but getting a Mechanic from one source ot another is likely the better way to go.

Thanks for the info guys!  I did a trade with Steve for a mod a couple months ago, and I really like the change in my knife.  He took the saw out of my Outrider to make it slimmer and more pocketable.  It's a nice set of tools now.

I'm wanting an Explorer with pliers now, and a Compact with a CT driver and bit holder.

I read a bunch of stuff in the modding forum about it and it seems fairly straightforward, but I'm not sure if it's something I should try myself though.

Can someone do me a favor and let me know how to get in contact with Rotokid?  I'd definitely be interested in getting some parts, even though I most likely won't end up doing any mods myself.
