So, a few minutes ago, someone knocked on my door. It was the UPS truck driver.

A little package was sitting at my doorstep. And in it? My old Explorer, with a new phillips driver, new scales, lanyard ring, toothpick and tweezers.

I am, of course, very happy to have it back, with full functionality. The tool still shows a lot of miles, with dings and scratches on most of the tools, but I think that just gives it character.

I would like to say that while it took some time, I am pleased with Victorinox's dedication to their tools. This is the kind of thing that goes a long way toward cementing lifelong loyalty. But then, I suppose most folks reading this are already life-long devotees.

Lynn, that's definitely a keeper.  The fact it's got a pre-2005 mag-glass on it alone is worth it.  If it were me, I'd be making some serious modding plans for that baby... :D

I'd love to have even a newer Explorer... :)  I want to mod one to have a pliers layer added to it.  :)  I think an Explorer with a saw layer would be a pretty popular model too.

And... out the door. Heinz will be its new owner in 3 to 5 business days.
