Just brought her back home. Nothing conclusive from the CT scan and rhinoscopy, so nothing lodged in there. They have taken samples for biopsy and histology which will take between 3 and 10 days to come back. She's very dazed and gouching out on the sofa for now.

Wish they had found something conclusive.

Thanks chaps - all up to date on the scruffs now. After keeping us up all night in shifts she is curled up in her bed. Been eating well without making the same retching sound as before, and her 'back door' is improving.

Hopefully, fingers crossed she'll keep on improving and we'll get some conclusive results from the tests.

I did. It went some way to repair the damage over the whole Dolly incident (Bonnie's words, not mine. I totally understand the difficulties you faced, sobbing in the car while your daughter tried in vain to save poor Dolly). She was quite upset at the time.

I totally get that your dog talks to you. I have (to me) very interesting conversations with my puppies.

As to what he ate, I don't know. Possibly he got in the compost pile also we have a herd of chickens and maybe he got into their pen area and ate something, i dunno. He's recovering quickly, he's not 100% back to his old self, but close.

Glad to hear it.

You may want to refer to your chickens collectively as a flock. They tend to react badly to being called a herd.. Top tip - their milk is terrible compared to a cow's.

I wish we could have chickens again, our bantams were delightful. Unfortunately, working where I do (on the U Boat) it is an unsuitable environment. One day though.........

Going on a week now we've been struggling with my 9-year old pure bred  :P AfriCanis,  Hansie, he escapes from the yard every chance he gets, can only assume somebody's on heat in that street......

I asked the vet if I should have him neutered while there for his inoculations, she said it wouldn't change his behavior at his age so rather leave it.....now I'm having second thoughts.....  :facepalm:

I've known the dog since he was 3, he's been mine the last 2 years, finally starting to show his age a bit, and he has such a proud set I feel guilty about having him chopped.......but rather that than ending up under a car  :facepalm:
