Gali and I got caught in some desert rain while we were hiking today. He did not like it. Whining the whole way back.

Milo is getting a playmate for a week or so (that he hasn't met yet). Hopefully they get along ok.

It's a male 13 yr old westie/jack russell cross called Alfie. We (my mum and I) and looking after him for an old lady my mum goes to bingo with. Her own kids won't take it in so we are going to while she's in hospital. Nice family she has I must say. They won't take him because they can't be bothered with a dog, is what she said to us.

It's handy my mum moved in with me, she's retired and will be at home to look after them while I'm at work during the week.

Change of plan. Just went to fetch him and she was at home still. Her operation has been postponed for some reason.

I took the opportunity to have a play with him as I'd never met him before, and he's a gentle little dog. I think he'll get on fine with Milo when he comes to stay.

Eagle is the horse, or what the person on the ground is pointing to?

No not yet. I've taken Milo to see Alfie a couple of times to introduce them and they get along ok. Winnie his owner is waiting for her operation date to come through then he will be coming to stay for a week to 10 days we think. I'm not sure what her operation if for, but she seems awfully sickly to me, so the sooner the better

Yeah I thought it would be best. Her dog is old as well so they are both as steady as each other

How's your Molly?

She's doing well mate.  She's decide that, for the moment, listening while on a walk is optional and that grabbing a stick to run away with and try and eat is the new best game ever.  ::)  Other than that though she's grand. :D  Oh, and she found something fetid to roll in this morning (though I'm not certain it was on purpose this time) so it was straight into the bath when we got home.

Better remember to clean the bath.

Not sure where to put this...but this seemed the most appropriate.

I just had to put down one of my cats. I came home 2 hours ago and found Gracy laid out on the floor. She could barely respond. I had to call a Vet off hours to put her to sleep. I just got back...and am not dealing with this all that well. I saved both of my cats from the Human Society. They were both supposedly 8 years old and had to be a pair for adoption. I found out they were slated for euthanasia the following day. That was back in 2011/12. I knew that Gracy was failing recently. She was getting progressively weaker and weaker. At first I assumed she was altering her usual routine...then the past few days I noted a remarkable downturn in her getting weaker. I told myself she wasn't feeling well and she would rebound. That didn't happen. At least she isn't suffering anymore.

This is the toughest part of having a pet....is to let them go when it is time.

I know I will be better in the next few days. Been down this road too many times in the past...but man does it hit hard.

This is so true, it is very, very hard, but thank you for doing the right thing by your beloved cat.   :tu:

Hang in there, and try to focus more on the good times that you had together.
