Well, Hauser apparently just has really bad allergies. They gave me a bunch of medicine in exchange for a bunch of money.

They have no idea... i already knew he was allergic to beef and chicken so i have him on an all fish diet. The vet has no clue what caused this though.

Me and the Mrs made a little something last night, there little tents, made from two coat hangers, a piece of cardboard, and a shirt. We added a little something extra by putting some stuffing in under the a extra shirt I cut up so that they had some cushion to lay on..

Does anyone know what to do about a 5½ month old labrador who eats everything? eg: dirt, grass clippings, chicken smurf..... left on her own she just hoovers it all up.  :dunno:

Does anyone know what to do about a 5½ month old labrador who eats everything? eg: dirt, grass clippings, chicken smurf..... left on her own she just hoovers it all up.  :dunno:

Is she actually eating (ie swallowing), or is she just chewing stuff ?
Swallowing. The owner is anxious about needing expensive surgeries to remove foreign objects.

As far as chicken smurf goes.......we get pelletized chicken manure for fertilizer, my dogs goes for it like it's sweets.....

I can understand the concern.  As long as it doesn't include hard (potentially dangerous) objects that cold perforate or get stuck in her GI tract then the potential issues I'd be worried about are infections and/or upset stomach (with messy consequences) from non-food material. 

That being said, many dogs seem to have extremely robust digestive systems that can process all sorts of non-food items without any obvious ill effects.  I know of a couple of Dobermanns that managed to chew their way through most of a couch (lounge) with hilarious visual results when the consumed foam exited their rear ends (think instant expanda-foam ! )

As long as it isn't doing any damage I'd be inclined to just restrict the dog's access to stuff you don't want her to eat (as much as is practical), and make sure dangerous swallowable (is that even a word ?  I guess it is now) objects that she likes are not available to her at all.
