I think I am going to start collecting Classics.  They are cheap, easy to clean, and compact enough that a collection of a few hundred would be a breeze to store.

I've bought most of my Leatherman's new, the others I got off Ebay.

I'm a big fan of ebay, I use it a lot.  The problem is though, there are a lot of people who think their Leathermans are made of gold, and they post them at the most ridiculous prices.  It takes patience, but a good deal can be had on Ebay.

Some are actually made of gold...  ;)

Ebay prices fluctuate. Last year LM ST200 were going for silly money. This year they are a lot cheaper. Unless you are sure that what you are bidding on is really special it is better to wait for the next one.
Also go for lots. Once the prices hit $200 most people back off, but if you divide the cost per item it is usually a cheap way to get various multitools.

Well I think I may have a health problem as I have upwards to 50+ LM tools plus in the region of 40+ SAK/Wenger, 10+ Gerber and 20+ other make MTs I just love the MT an SAK type knives I don't know why but I love the fact I can alter my EDC as and when I feel like it ever day 365 days of the year.

They all have there days out some days I go old school LM and SAK , other days I go new school LM and Wenger but I am always ready and well prepared guess I take Baden Powell's
scout motto slightly serious being in the scout movement as well feeds the obsession too I guess lol :-)

Yea, it seems there's no end to the ridiculousness of UK knife laws.  I don't think any of the states over here have outlawed locking blades, just a few cities, and that doesn't stop anyone.

Yes, eBay has definitely changed. I took a look at SAKs last night and nearly fell out of my chair with the high prices.

I had a friend over last night who I haven't seen in years. He was positively floored as I took him through the guided tour of the collection. at the end of it, I looked at my watch. The tour took a full 2 and a half hours to do!  :ahhh
