Any idea why Victorinox doesn't embed the cross/shield into nylon scales?

I know some models have nylon scales as Economy models. But others, like most of their 111 mm lock blade models, are not considered Economy series, and still have the cheap, stamped-in and painted cross and shield.

Just curious.

The Nylon scales are intended to be cheaper , it's a cost saving thing . I for one wish they did . For actual use the Nylon is a tuffer material .

Probably also because the nylon scale are too flexible to have it fix in place.
