I’ve seen it on the news Yadda, extreme isn’t the word. Hope you family and garden all good

Thank you. My wife and I are extremely lucky.  We have a back up generator so no power outage for us.   The worst at the moment is the boil water notice.  The weather is getting warmer so we look to be done with the cold weather for a little while.

Very pleased to hear things are improving Yadda, extreme weather like that surely is nature’s way of telling us who’s boss. I know a lot of people have really been through a lot there, it’s been on our news everyday, wishing all a speedy recovery to normality

Since getting several terra cotta pots I have been experimenting with herbs, succulents, and natives to my area.  So far so good.  I also was given a cute little plumeria.  It'll be a while for a flower but she's looking happy.  Pictured are a Guava tree that we got very small but looking good so far.  Plumeria I got from a client that had one leaf.  Its next to another plumeria that flowers in its second year as a cutting.  Cleveland Sage we got tiny but it looks to be thriving and once established should be a great plant.  Avocado tree thats been super productive.  We give away more than we eat and our friends are always so eager.  The variety is Haas and boy are they delicious.

Last is a rather large rosemary shrub that I started from 10 cuttings.  I took the cutting and placed then into water for a couple weeks till they rooted then popped them into soil till they looked like they'd do well in the ground.  Its been a fun journey with this.  I started another 10 but only 3 survived.  I'll pop those into the ground later this year.

Forgive the bare ugly spot behind the shrub.  We are going to have a concrete pad put in then build a studio.

One of the top priorities when we searched for a place to buy was to have a garden, even if it’s a small one. It’s the fourth year we’ve been taking care of this garden and I have made some improvements with time. Last thing I did was to put this 40% shading net, as heat became extreme in the past decade or so and with that raining ice (not sure how it’s called in english) became more regular too. So hopefully our tomatoes and cucumbers will last longer this year and will feel better. Don’t mind the messy wine vine in the back  :D The previous owner decided they should have it over the shed so if I want to tend it I should walk on the roof of the shady shed. I’m not risking it since the thing isn’t in great shape. The rest of the vines are good though.

My figs are closed eye figs that do not require pollination.  No fig wasps here.  My better half has been busy.

We made a stop at Wally Worlds garden section.  They have a rack with plants that have seen better days or returns.  Most are marked under $7 but are in need of love.  We decided to pick up 3 that were in good condition.  Portaluca, Angelonia, and Dracaena Deramensis.  The Dracaena will be a indoor plant.  The other 2 are in their new home hanging near my Humming Bird feeder.  I'm hoping the Portaluca and Angelonia thrive in their new homes.  Gorgeous colors added to the garden and hopes of bees and butterflies abound.  We do get our share of bees and butterflies but I want more!

The Dracanea is a cutie and for a US dollar seventy seven we couldn't pass it up.  If there were more we'd have gotten more.  I may go back and pick up more Portaluca to add pop to our garden.

Transplanted Plumeria is happy.

If she's such a busy bee, it's a good thing there are no wasps around.

If you add poop instead, it might help getting bigger and stronger plants.
