:like: and I'm curious as to how well the ferro rod works. I have a small one from Wazoo Survival gear, and I had a tough time getting it to spark. It's bigger than the one that comes with the Signal...
It actually works pretty well.  It isn’t going to throw huge flames, but it still works well.

Moving to another apartment soon, with things need to be cleaned and fixed.

Zip tie cutting with surge, filing some metal to fit a door lock with the surge file (the file is surprisingly good)

And screwing in this screw, with a panel in the way of a screwdriver is used, this Leatherman carabiner I though is only for fun, is actually very useful this time

I sometimes miss being in apple country where fresh picking and apple cider are common

Today the signal driver helped change out the soft loop on my knife sheath for a Ultiticlip

During the Helene aftermath around here, the Rebar really pulled its weight with storm cleanup.

Phillips--handed to a buddy while we pulled the generator that was bought after Sandy and promptly never used--but needed just shy of 15 years later to power the fridge and freezer. He replaced missing screws that powered the generator's electric start.

Pliers--a lot of stuff. He also borrowed them to adjust an old Sears/Hilary Field Gear camping stove we used in place of the electric range (we also did a lot of cooking on the grill). I have been doing fence work, and the cutters also have done a ton of stuff when I wasn't going back to my tool roll to grab the Cobolt cutters.

Serrated Blade--cut some miner belt (conveyor) for making a seal on the bottom of a screen door to air out the basement (which is cut short to clear a step going outside). Tough stuff to cut. Finally, I used a Dexter Russell net knife. Honestly, Tiger Sharp are the best serrations on the market, especially on thinner blades. It zipped through the stuff like hot butter.

PS: We were out of power between 5 AM Friday and 6:30 PM today. Lots of damage around me. We got lucky to only end up with some fence damage (which is where I'm spending all my weekend) and a dented garage roof edge from half a tree falling on it.

Being called in by.son to use my knowledge of electrical wiring to install an outdoor driveway light on a new brick  (fancy) pedestal he built to replace the pole light that was there previously.

Apparently the  wiring  did not seem to be standardized with Blk/white/green.

So to be prepared I located my multi-meter for tomorrow s task only to find the battery was dead.

REBAR put work.

A Leatherman helped to repair a space heater.  Doing things with your hands doesn't get easier as you get older.  Especially if your eyes are not so great.  It looked like the three stooges at some stages of the work. Shemp couldn't take a photo, so I will leave a picture of my morning tea with a Leatherman.  Herbal tea at that.  I know there is a SAKs With Tea thread, but I couldn't find a LM With Tea.  Might not be one?  Best wishes.  G

Made a platform base to "fix" together both my box and floor fans, using the Signal for cutting, marking and drilling tasks.

You know, Dan?  Leatherman users might not be tea drinkers.  Herbal tea, anyway.  This was Numi Honey Bush.  Some sort of South African shrub, evidently.  It is actually pretty good.  I fix coffee.  Tea.  Mostly in the cooler months.  I actually like cocoa too, but I haven't had any in ages.  They drink sweet tea down here.  Cold with lots of sugar.  I like it, but I stay away from it except for rare occasions.
I know our friend Barry likes tea, but he is a Gerber and SOG man I think?  He probably knows why there is no Leatherman and Tea Club.  Best wishes.  G

@IMR4198: I know Barry has at least one Leatherman laying around. He also gifted me my Pulse. :hatsoff: (I returned the favor by sending him a SwissChamp.)

@Bigshep: That's heavier than I've used the wire cutters for. Good to see they're up to the job! :tu:

Last Saturday while hiking Guadalupe Peak, I used the Micra scissors to trim some toenails.  It was well up to the task.

As expensive as new boots can be, you'll really come out ahead if the patch job holds. Now, where is that "fingers crossed" smiley?

I didn't know there was a fingers crossed smiley.  I'm not all that current on my smilological representations.  I got a boot full of water yesterday from crossing a little creek.  Got to follow the old mantra.  "Use it up, wear it out, make it do, or do without."  Within reason, of course.  That was latex caulk for repair work.  It seems to stick to the rubbery sole very well.  Best wishes.  G

I know there's a fingers crossed smiley somewhere. It's where exactly that's puzzling me. Latex caulk may well do the job. And if it was left over from another job, you had nothing to lose by trying!

Oh man, it's been a while, but recently I pulled my Wave out of the drawer and realised that I really missed this tool  :multi:.

So I went straight to using it quite extensively 😀.

A few weeks ago I stumbled upon a tremolo guitar effect pedal from Seymour Duncan I wanted to buy like 20 years ago but somehow didn't. The price was good so I pulled the trigger. Put it into my pedalboard and realised that now I have two tap tempo pedals and have to tap both to set the proper tempo for each song. That's suboptimal to say the least, so I drilled a hole in this new pedal and soldered a wire to the jack output so now the tap tempo switch on my new tremolo also sets the tempo for the delay effect or any other effects I may daisy chain in the future. Turned out really well. Wave was used for wire stripping both with the new Plus pliers I have bought and installed recently as well as a dedicated tool. Stripping with pliers works much better than on a Spirit X - one thing Wave does indeed do better 😃.

But of course that was just the beginning :)

Also I finally installed lights at the balcony - there was some weird setup with electrics in place so it took some experimenting in order to make it work, but all done ✅. Main blade on a Wave was used for stripping the stupidly fragile aluminium wires and bit extender for attaching the lamp to those wires.

And while at it laundry hanging mechanism failed again:

So I drilled holes in the poles and fastened all of them with a zip tie - this way surely it'll last quite a few more years. Wave pliers were used for tightening and trimming the excess of the zip ties.

Overall after having not used a Wave for a while at some point yesterday a thought came to my mind. I have decades of experience using different computers and operating systems and different approaches by different companies. That's why at some point yesterday I realised that Swiss Tool, Spirit and Victorinox overall is like a Mac or other Apple products.

While Wave and other LMs are definitely Linux to me.

No good or bad there - love and use both tools and platforms - each has its benefits. But that's 101% how I feel about it :) What do you think?

Thanks a lot, good to be back :) No idea as for Windows - don't use it much :).

But as for LMs - I had to install an S30V blade, Plus pliers that I had to heat and loosen for a while, will install an awl later and only then Wave will become close to what I want it to be. Similar to Linux. Anything is possible but it takes time, effort, knowledge and persistence :)

On Vic multitools for me (!) it's much closer to perfection as is. Spirit not so much but on a Swiss Tool it really is. But you can't really change much if you want to - really reminds me about Apple platforms - only in some ways but still.
