There was a crack in the pane, and you wanted to make it safe so you snapped of the end portion? Either that or that pane of glass was an integral part of a doomsday machine and you saved the world by removing that inch of glass as it changed the focal length of the death ray so that it backfired on the evil genius mastermind behind the scheme to hold the world to ransom?

I know it was a stupid thread but it kept our brains busy

I work in a glass factory on a production line that produces double glazed window units .A batch of glass is cut from a huge sheet . I'm talking about 4metres by 10 metres . The sheet is laid flat on a cutting bench all the different sizes of the glass is fed into the computer which then works out how best to get them out of that sheet .A robotic cutter then scores the glass and two guys stand at the end and snap off the bits of glass and a large screen tells them which slot to put them in the barrow .
Are you asleep yet ? What I'm doing in the picture is using my swisstool to snap off a bit of waist "trim" that the guys on the cutting table missed .
