SMKW special models by Victorinox
on: May 18, 2012, 07:17:55 PM
Soon after I started collecting those beauties, I started buying stuff on ebay, what helped me a lot in my collection.
And ever better, I found forums and sites that helped even more in my collection.

I've been searching since then for a model that I don't even know if it exists...

It is the "Deer Hunting" variant of the special Wild Life series from SMKW. I've never seen one for sale or even a good picture of it.

Does anybody have one like that, or more information on the subject?

those are the ones I have...

I have one. Don't have much to add beyond what's shown in the photo. It's a highly modified Huntsman with the corkscrew and awl on the back replaced by a phillips screwdriver and small flat screwdriver, and a light added. Dark green plastic with a whitetail deer on it.

I don't think the Wildlife series or the two Master knives sold very well, as SMKW closed them out at very reduced prices, and they haven't done any other SAK series that I'm aware of.

I have the Turkey model plus the Master Technician and Master Gardener. Looked long and hard for the other two in the series to no avail. Someday I will stumble upon them for sale someplace.

Nice collection of hard to get knives.
A little Leatherman information.

There are four knives in the Wildlife series, the bass, turkey ,and deer shown in the ad; and the eagle shown in the photos underneath.

Thanks for the exact configuration information on that one... I can fix up the Wiki with that now.  I know if one comes up for sale I'll be bidding on it.  I'm missing that one in my collection as well, don't know why it seems harder to come by, maybe it was the only one that sold really well at the regular price and people used them rather than saved them.

What does the printing say on the Deer one?

Sorry to take so long to get back to you. Just got back from a vacation trip to Alaska.  :D Tremendous scenery and lots of wildlife.

Here's a couple of shots of the Wildlife Series Deer Hunter. The handles are dark green but appear black in the photos.

Nice I thought you were probably on a holiday, I'm happy to hear it that you went to such a fantastic place.

I touched up your photo a bit, now can I use it on SAKwiki?   :D

In an effort to promote sales of its Master Electrian, SMKW sold it together in one box with the Rambler both w/yellow scales & offered it as a Duo.
