My backup Rebar BO. Great tool indeed. Why I trust it as my backup. Tough as can be.

Yes and a pair of scissors and an outside opening blade and a bit driver slot it would be the number 1 tool. But, I guess that what the Wabar or Rave mashup is for haha!!!

I use the bit adapter on the square shank Phillips and that takes care of the bit driver part, plus I have added scissors and a clip to one of mine  :D No 1 handed blades as I don't really need them but they are nice sometimes :tu:

Oh and I did add the diamond file to that one as well :D

Different bit adapter, you are thinking bit extender ;) the one I am speaking of fits over all the square shank Phillips drivers and turns them into a 1/4 inch bit driver

Here is the adapter with the bit kit that it comes with

The square end that fits over the Phillips

And the 1/4 inch end :salute:

It fits the flat bits fine and also the added bonus of fitting all regular bits as well :like:

Had no clue they offered that option from Leatherman. I will have to look to see if I can get one. I have the other 21 piece bits for the Surge and Wave. That is definitely an addition I would like to have for my Rebar. And you said you added scissors to your Rebar? Is there a specific scissor type needed to fit the Rebar or will any of them work?

Well what do you know? Leatherman had it on their site available for $24. After shipping and taxes came out to right under $33. This is a game changer thanks for letting me know about this P65 I had no clue. Thanks again!!!

No problem :hatsoff: It really is a worthwhile addition :tu:

The scissors are the ones in the Wave/Charge/Blast etc

In the scissor mod all that is really lost (after a bit of reordering) is the lanyard ring and maybe a washer  Everything still fits and you get scissors :woohoo:

Several people have done this mod and it makes the Rebar way more versatile  :tu: I will get some pics this evening of some of my Rebar mods and regulars  if I remember anyways  :woohoo:  :D

Few quick pics of a couple of my modded Rebars

This one is my most heavily modded one :tu: It is color swapped with BO handle and plier head, it has Wave/Charge scissors, a Wave/Charge diamond file grinded down at the pivot end to match the lock tabs of the Rebar vs the liner locks of the tool it came out of, the can opnener sharpened at the tip to also be a package opener and the tools have been reordered just a bit to be able to keep everything in whilst also gaining scissor :salute: only losing the lanyard ring ;) and lastly I swapped out the pivot to a LM Kick pivot so it would accept the Kick clip and screw  :tu: the Kick clip has a tab that is normally turned down and another member actually cut a slot in the handle to accomodate this and made it more sturdy but I just flattened it out a bit and had to get the tension just right to keep it in place and also be able to get the tools out without to much problem

The next one is just the reversed color swap partner of the above :tu: otherwise it is factory, at least I think it is  :D

The 2 together can give you a bit of a comparison as to where I swapped what to fit the scissor in  others have accomplished the same but some have done so with different order :tu:

Also of note, you have to put the scissors beside a long tool and they cannot be on the outside because they won't work because of the way the lock tabs are made :salute: otherwise it is a straight drop in mod and adds a lot of versatility to the Rebar :like:

And you got a pocket clip. Which pocket clip did you use? That, to me, along with the scissors, is the best mod upgrade to the Rebar. That would turn mine into an everyday, backpack, camping, hiking, flying.....okay "Total Use" MT. I have a couple of Waves with broken parts lying around. Good mashup. Good mods there P65. I may be hitting you up to get some pointers although you've explained it pretty well here in the posts.

It was the Kick pocket clip  They are fairly hard to find individually these days but I bought them way back, the Kick was still in production then and nothing extra special about them, except that they could be used as LM wrenches to a point :tu:

You have to take the pivot pin out of a LM Kick for it to work like it is suppose to though :salute: the Kick pivot is tapped especially for that clip :tu:

I will try to answer any questions that you have if I can but there are several molders on here with much more knowledge than me :tu:
