:twak: for making me think there was something wrong with my eyes

The combination of the black tools and tan handles looks great. And having a grippy surface is good. I don't know about you (I suspect that it may be true for you too since you are a mason) but after working 36+ years in construction my hands are a little dry and slick and don't work quite as well as they used to. Non-slippery handles can be helpful.

I am not a big fan of all BO MTs, but the two tone MTs you have put together really are appealing to me  :tu:

My hands aren't as rough and fingertips worn smooth as they use to be as I mostly get to tell people what to do these days  :D but yes a good grippy handled tool is much better :salute:

Sorry about making you think something was wrong with your eyes

I really love the 2 tone LM that they have out and I can't remember if we here at MTO started making them like that right before or at the same time LM cane out with some of the ones that they have  I really want a 2 tone SURGE and the Supertool 300M in Coyote Tan  but I haven't came across any cheaper ones yet ::) :D

:nanadance:           :nanadance:

Can I ask a Rebar mod question here?

If I wanted to add scissors to the Rebar, is it just a matter of replacing the serrated blade with the scissors from a Wave (plus?)? No need to file or trim on anything?

You can actually just take out a thick washer and maybe a couple thin ones and keep everything else plus the scissors :salute:

Plenty of us have did this mod :tu: Lot of great info in the Mod Squad subforum :salute: If I can find one with the tools fanned I will put it in here

Here is the Link to my thread where I added scissors

The pics at the beginning are old and still from Photobucket but I think you can still see the order the tools are in :salute:

Later pics in the thread are much better and there is also a link to a Diamond file mod that SteveC did and it may link back to his original Rebar modding thread

If my first pics aren't clear enough then by page 2 there are some much better pics by jaya_man :salute:

Good luck in modding :tu:

Thanks for that, Poncho!

I’m like a giddy school kid thinking about adding scissors to the Rebar.

I’m just concerned that a pair of wrenches for the Rebar is gonna cost USD40 while the spare scissors from a junker is only USD20, all from a local seller up north.

Not sure if I have anything else that’ll work on the binders of the Rebar.

Would a Wave’s large bit changer be a drop-in replacement for the philips of a Rebar?

Halfway done…..am I doing this right?

Gonna have to open it up again tomorrow to make some slight adjustments to where the awl is.

Looking good to me  sometimes it does take a few times shuffling the tools around to get everything to close correctly  :tu:

Final form!

Given:
- my only tools are the wrenches and SAK tweezers. No drills, dremels or anything of the sort.
- no spare washers

Puzzles:
- in the configuration in my previous post, the plier head touches the nail nick of the scissors. It closes but if you clam down firm enough, you’ll feel the scissors / plier head shift from being on top of one another to beside each other.
- philips and awl need to be in the center as they contour out of the way for the plier head.
- can opener (very important for me) has nail nick on right side only. It doesn’t have top side fingernail access like the awl or flatheads.
- when folded, the scissors have a thumb stud to its left.

Solution:
With plier head on top, sequence on one arm from left to right is:
Plain edge blade
Can opener
Small flat head
Awl
Large flat head
File

Then:
Serrated blade
Philips
Spacer
Scissors
Wood saw

Tool clumping on the awl-flatheads-can opener? Yes, thank you very much. Actually helps with tool deployment. The scissors cut and does not get disconnected from the spring.

Basically, I think it’s a success and worth the money and effort.

Thanks everyone  :hatsoff:

I have to admit that I’m exhilarated such that it feels I have a totally new LM.

I’m thinking of saving up a bit more and getting a large bit holder from a Wave so that the Rebar can use the ratchet driver and bit kit.  I’m picturing it as something along the lines of an ST300M.
