Thanks Eric :tu:

Yes she was a bit exhausted but about 5 minutes later the steaks came out and she was surprisingly lively

About time I posted some new pics here  ;).

These were taken in April, during a hike on the Belgian/German border, near the beautiful German town of Monschau.

One of my favorite regions of Belgium, right on the German border (some of it even used to be Germany, but became Belgium after World War II).

Anyway, to quote Arnie, enough talk...

Here are the pics  ;).

Let's start with some pics of my latest SAK, the Evogrip S557 (first SAK I bought in a loooong time, I heard rumors of Victorinox discontinuing the Wenger models, and stumbled across a nice deal on the S557, so I bought 2 of them, I just love the Wenger models).

And lastly, a pic of our car which we bought early 2023, a Dacia Duster, which was quite handy in finding a parking spot there, thanks to its reasonable high ground clearance and even modest off roading capabilities (which tickled my off roading interest, but more on that later...).

Hope you guys had good internet connection when you opened this post (apologies for posting that many pics in one topic  :-[), but I hope you enjoyed them.

Greetings from Belgium  :salute:.

No apologies needed. I sure did enjoy seeing them! :like: Now I'm wondering if a more serious off-roader is in your future.

Great pics Eric and congrats on you new Delemont :like:

I’ve been a bit quiet on the site too recently, my rental home of 12 years is being sold and I’ve got to pack up and move in a very short space of time. Renting in Sydney is a nightmare and add in Coco and it’s proving very hard to find any thing…anyway onwards and upwards

I’ve often wondered which tool I’d stick in my pocket while going through something like this and it’s turned out to be the Skeletool with a PX in reserve

If I weren't about to step off the jetty and into the same boat, and it wouldn't present a logistical nightmare for you, I'd offer you and Coco a place.

A VA appointment (for issues not directly related to my physical or mental health) presented an opportunity: I was within an easy walk to the Detroit Riverwalk.

Their claim that it's the best in the USA isn't mere hyperbole and hubris. It really is a nice place to go and take a walk. They even have butterfly gardens.

No, Bantam. We are not going to Canada.

There is a possibility that I will visit that VA facility again. If I do, there will be more photos. Hope you enjoyed these ones!

@Farmer X:  Thanks my friend, glad you enjoyed the pics I posted, and yes, I've just made a big decision concerning the replacement of our second car, a 14 year old Citroën Berlingo which started having some costly issues...

I will make a post about that in the very near future  ;).

Thank you for posting those awesome pics, they are exactly the type of pictures I had in mind when I started this topic way back in 2012, hard to beat a black Alox SAK when it comes to looking awesome...  (I had to look up what a VA facility was  :-[, but I'm happy I did, always great to learn something new  ;)).

Thank you my friend  :salute:.

Thank you very much, and I'm glad you enjoyed the photos! :hatsoff: I'll get more as opportunities present themselves, but one has to be very cautious when taking photos in Detroit.

Why is that, if I may ask?  What's going on in Detroit?

I don't want you to risk getting into trouble over some pics.

Hey John,

So sorry to hear about your housing problem, I know exactly how it feels to be pushed into moving out.

Back in the early 2000's, Misses TG-24 and yours truly were renting a small home, in the hope of being able to save up to buy ourselves a home in time.  Our first son was just born, the second one was on the way and all of the sudden, our landlord told us he wanted to move into the house we were renting.  Which actually meant as much as, in 3 months you guys are out on the streets...

Anyway, we got very, very lucky and stumbled across our current home, and now, 18 years later, we have 5 more years to pay and it will be ours, truly ours...

But we had a lot of sleepless nights before we got to where we are now, so I hope you'll find a solution as well my friend.

And you are right, Skeletool and PX makes for a very capable, yet lightweight carry  :tu:.

Thanks Dan and Eric :tu: :tu:

I’m very pleased to say I have found somewhere and will be able to move in a few weeks

It’s a bit run down and very close to a major freeway but actually quite a nice place and a bit cheaper. Further from the area where I work but quite doable, big relief

Nothing too major. I just try to avoid looking too much like a tourist, as that might make one a target for property crimes.

Today there were elections over here, and we had to go vote for representatives in the European parliament, the Flemish parliament and the chamber of Representatives (I don't know if all these translations are correct ).

Anyway, here's yours truly about to vote...

On the wrist was my black dial Seiko King Turtle, with double domed sapphire crystal on a Nato strap for the occasion.

We have Houses of Representatives in the States. There is one at the federal level and one for each state.

That is one very good-looking watch, and the band compliments it very well! :tu:

Just a quick pic of what's on my wrist today...

One of my favorite watches, the Seiko King Turtle, this is the green version, its official name being  SRPE05, but I prefer its nickname "the green waffle"  ;).

Thanks guys  :hatsoff:.

The turtle shape is one of the most (of not thé most) comfortable watch case ever in my opinion.

I also own a Seiko SKX and while being smaller, it is not as comfortable on the wrist as my turtles, which are quite big watches.

Edit:  The Seiko diving straps are also in a league of their own in my opinion, so comfortable, yet very durable.
