What is your most used SAK?
on:
May 26, 2012, 11:29:39 PM
Slightly different question here. Not what is your most carried,or your favourite, but which SAK do you actually use the most?
I have 3 that see more real use than any other, and only one ever leaves the house, let alone getting EDC use.
My most used is my Huntsman,or as its more popularly known, the kitchen SAK.Used on a daily basis for opening cans(its the prime can opener, odd in itself cos I prefer Wenger and LM can openers),opening food packets, and the scissors doing just about everything.Oh and yes,its even opened a bottle of wine.
I have a Climber that lives in the living room, which ends up being the prime letter/parcel opener, newspaper cutter outer etc...
Oh,and the EDCer?Saphire Manager.Coundnt get by with out the tiny philips and the nail file.the pen, the scissors....
There is no beginning,or ending, and for this we are thankful, cos now is hard enough to understand!

In reality? It's a toss-up between the OH Trekker in my EDC and the Tinker that usually sits on my coffee table in our living room.

Victorinox Executive for me.
+1. My Executive lives on my keys. If I only have one knife on me, that's the one. Another strong contender is the Tinker, my favorite 91mm SAK. In third is probably my Wenger Evo16.

Lately, it has been the Rambler for me, as it has been my most frequently carried to work every day.
Every once in a while, I decide I'm "under SAK'd" and carry something bigger, but then I don't use anything the Rambler doesn't have, and I feel silly for having that big lump in my pocket all day.
On the weekends, I think it has to be the CyberTool 34. Every time I go to the airgun range, that one gets the call, because some scope rings take Torx screws, and the medium flathead screwdriver is the perfect size for other things.

The EDC Executive. Used it today (fingernail file as phillips driver) to snug the mounting screws when I changed out glass for screen in the front and back doors.

My Spartan has gotten the most use at work and at home, since it is the tool with the most EDC time. Other tools that gets used a lot is my tinker and my Wenger Evo S111 (wich is my new favoruite EDC).

Victorinox Executive. It's either on my keychain or in my pocket, always. ALWAYS.
I find the large blade just enough bigger than the 58mm ones to be truly useful. Heck, I halved/quartered/cored a large apple with it just yesterday. Likewise, the scissors are a bit more functional than the The small blade I keep scalpel sharp. The nail file is my favorite on any SAK, since it's the only one that's both properly cut (not that random sandy pattern), and the teeth go all the way to the edge. And even that odd orange peeler comes in handy; the serrated edge is perfect for cutting tape when opening boxes, and the notch gets used like a small line cutter.
