I contemplated carrying the Crunch alongside another more traditional plier tool, but eventually decided against it for EDC.  If I go on a long road trip (in someone elses car that doesn't carry a full compliment of tools in the trunk) I'd wear both :D

Sometimes nothing can replace a set of locking pliers.

I still haven't figured out how to wear my wave, so it sits at home. It's too heavy for pocket, drags down whatever hold it. The (fake) leather sheath came with it is horrible, rides so high and pokes me no matter where I put it on my belt. Maybe a nylon sheath or pocket clip would help but neither is avaliable for a reasonable price here.

For me the crunch doesn't give enough Bang for your Buck. for One Crunch I can get a threepack of Self-adjusting Locking Pliers - Large and Small Curved jaw (the most common type) and a Longnose pair (all German of course) - I'd probably have enough left over for a Half round file or an Okay folder.

It's innovative as far as multis go, and the folding thing I suppose is cool, but it doesn't really have enough extra features to be worth it - I'd pair a small (I think they get as small as 4"?) Locking pliers with a reg. Plier multi for best effect.

I've got these real swish heavy cotton duck workpants.
On top of the usual cargo "trade" pockets, there are Cordura layers for thin things (On the website they are called "Gadget Pockets") - like pens maybe, lighters, or perhaps a multitool...

It seems neato in theory, but I find myself too worried about it popping out at some point or another.

Depends on the order of dress . With the Charge Ti , either behind the right hip , verticle or left front horizontal in a Blackhawk mag pouch . When I carry my surge , its left front in a swivel pouch ( Blackhawk mag pouch , modified with a tek lock ). At one time I used to carry the Charge in the strongside front pocket  , worked fine , I prefer not to display a pocket clip in an urban setting .

How do you like the blackhawk sheath? I have the Maxpedition, and am thinking of trying another brand.

I just ordered clip and nylon sheath from leatherman so hopefully I can carry my wave with me. Also hope I won't get nailed at customs for more fees than the clip/sheath cost.  :-X

I've had a Gerber Multi-Tool for a very long time now and have never carried it on my person.  After hanging out with a friend last night and talking to him about his Wave made me want to start carrying a multi tool but instead of just strapping on my Gerber I went out and bought a LM Charge TTI and now have the problem of trying to figure out where/how I'm going to carry it.

I have stuff on my right and left side already which would push the multi tool to the back of everything on the left, not the greatest spot for me.  Too much stuff in my other pockets to make that happen plus I want to use the sheath so that I can carry the spare bits.  Anyway, I just tried it on my left side horizontal above my left pocket pretty much somewhere around 11 o'clock and it seems to work well so far.  It doesn't get in the way of the seat belt in my truck or give me problems sitting or bending over and it doesn't block me from getting into my pocket easily.  I have it set in something of a cross-draw so I can pull it out easily with my right hand (I'm right handed) which is nice and better than having it on my left side vertical where I would have to draw with my left hand and then switch.

This may be the ticket for me.  Thanks for this thread for getting me thinking outside of the box.

Hawkchucker , bout the same , the Blackhawk is better for horizontal carry , IMVHO , eagle and spec ops are bout the best .

I wear my leatherman at about 3 o'clock, left hand side, vertical. And since someone mentuioned pants, I usually wear Good old Aussie King Gee's

You have to love pants that have a "Press Stud Multi Tool Cargo Pocket" :)

On the weekdays when I'm at work, I carry my Charge TTi in leather pouch on my left side. But when I use it alot, I clip it to my pocket. And my K503x clipped in my front left pocket. On my right, I carry my Crunch in a nylon Wave sheath and the bit kit, all vertically.

On the weekdays when I'm not at work, I used to carry around my Sideclip in my front left pocket. It has been replaced by my Kick which I usually carry around in it's sheath on my left, vertically. I just got a clip, so that'll change.

On the weekends, I used to carry around my Flair in it's original sheath, vertically. It has been replaced by my Juice Xe6.

My Micra I usually slip into my pocket and forget about it :( (Not intentionally though!)

Horizontal in a transparent plastic pouch and leather cell phone pouch.

Fits perfectly.

I usually wear my Leathermans with a red garter belt and matching stockings :o ::) :D

But in seriousness.  With the "aftermarket" clips Leatherman sells, any model that has a clip(or is clip capable), calls my pockets home  :multi:

Except for the Surge and Wave.  Though I've put clips on both of them , but they stay in a black Maxpedition Proteous waist Versapack. Among with the extra sawblade and screwbits

Black and red look great together >:D :pok:

My Charge is clipped in my right rear pocket on my 5.11s or in the front pocket of my jeans.  I can't wear it on a belt because my 1911 is on my right hip and the double mag pouch is on my left.  That and the Charge sheath is big and clunky, so even if I had room I wouldn't wear it.

So far I haven't encountered any problems at the malls.

I did carry mine vertical on my right hip, but since my sheath broke Friday at work, I ordered a clip Friday night, and hope it will be here soon, as I now have to carry it in my back pocket until than.

I think I like the idea of the surge in the h502 sheath as well, though it's not made of it; its a pretty good fit plus it rides lower on the belt ( plus for us chubby folks lol)

I carry with pocket clip if the tool has the option. I drop Juice and Squirt models in a front pocket, and sometimes clip a Squirt to my keys. I sheath carry a Kick (soon to be a Fuse) around the farm, but that's about the only time I use a sheath... On other larger tools that don't clip, I use this carabiner/clip thingie to keep it hanging upright in pocket.
