Well to work the topics we have to work the communication issues.

"Where's the Injuns what'll put arrers in yer back?
Where's yer slatherin' wolves of the rollin' prarie?
Where's yer grizzly brown bear as can claw the bark off a gum tree?
HERE'S A MAN for ya! I'm half horse, half gator, tougher'n a earthquake. I've got the prettiest gal, the fastest horse, and the ugliest dog this side of hell. I can out jump, out run, throw down, drag out and whip any man in old Kaintuck.

I told my pap and mam I was comin' to the mountains to trap and be a mountain man. Acted like they was gut shot! Sez, son, make your life go here. Here is where the people is. Them mountains is for animals and savages. I sez, Mother Gue, the Rocky Mountains is the marrow of the world. By God, I was right!

I might never see 'em but my common sense tells me the Andes is foothills and the Alps is for children to climb. These HERE is God's finest sculpturing. There ain't no laws fer the braves ones. Ain't no asylums fer the crazy ones. There ain't no churches 'cepten this right here. And there ain't no priests 'cepten the birds. By God, I are a mountain man and I'll live til an arrer or a bullet finds me and then I'll turn inter a post and moulder into the further buildin' up of these here mountains, the back bone of the world.

It's del Guy's parting shot in the movie "Jerimiah Johnson".  You say "kit" we say "possibles".  Waugh!!!  Sort of the way the people talk in the Rockies.

Now we are way off topic but at least we have solved the language-communication issues.  Hey it was dirty and off topic but needed to be done.  Time for me to go skin that bar.

It is a good movie with Robert Redford.

A vain attempt. Y'all is not mountain speak.  I grew up in South Alabama.  That's a whole different language.

Where's professor 'iggins when you need him.

At any rate on topic looks like I have another multi-tool concept to add to the FemTool.  Must have a compass multi-tool.

yes, if you can find a MT with some space for one of them button compasses, mount it securely, that would be sweet, give it a go!

Maybe better to add a knife and can opener to a compass.  You could go either way.  Wenger did it, just added a lousy button compass.

Trouble then is, with the metal content of the tool, throw the zero off the compass ???

I already commented on that.  Use non-magnetic metal or a ceramic knife.  WAUGH!  Don't ask me to explain that word.

Someone asked for a compass multitool???

Dang there goes my dreams of fame and fortune.

Don't feel too bad Mickey.  I was born in Wisconsin, raised in Alabama and live in Colorado.  I'm still working out the linguistic issues of the Civil War, haven't gotten to the Revolutionary War yet.  So if you call me a Yankee I will be very confused. ???

It does look like it has issues with being practical.  There is room for better design.  Also that is a full compass instead of a button compass.  Depends on which way to go with that.

The design problem is that by nature a knife is thin and long, a compass is fat and round.  That Schrade tool has a good compass but makes the knife part hard to use.  On the Wenger to make the knife good the compass quality is sacrificed.  A design has to have a good compromise.
