Here's one I haven't seen before... rare Gerber or strange knockoff?

I'm not sure what to make of this one... definitely something I haven't seen before. It opens Leatherman style, has SOG style screws, and bears the Gerber logo.

I can't tell if this is some old Gerber model, or if someone made a very confused Gerber knockoff.

Thoughts?

No, it's a Gerber MPT, and yes, it's real.  :)  It won out over the Leatherman PST in supplying multitools to the US armed forces.

Yuip, the Military Provisional Tool was Gerber's attempt (and success) at beating Leatherman at their own butterfly opening game.  Now Leatherman is trying to beat Gerber at the sliding head game with the new OHT.  What goes around comes around I guess!  :D
