Does anyone here have this SAK? If so, what are your thoughts about it?

108mm custom Safari with 3 blades assembled by SwissBianco shown in their December 2008 newsletter:

I don't have one of these but I would like one. I love the 108mm serie.
I've the other one from +B, the solo. And some other models ...  ;)

Thanks.

Nice custom. I also have a standard Solo with the regular spear point blade.

What I am looking for is this variant with 3 blades. I am wondering how many were assembled. Might be just one or two, but I hope not...

Thus why I am asking here...

On the link you posted yourself, it says 28 were built. ;)

I do agree, though, the 108 mm frame is great!

It's a nice addition to the collection, but I've never used it in the field.

If anyone has one and is interested for a possible sale or trade (for NIB alox, vintage, etc) please contact me. I posted also here before starting this thread:

http://forum.multitool.org/index.php/topic,38330.0.html

If anyone has one and does not consider to sell/trade, please be welcome to share here your thoughts (mini reviews?  :salute:) about this SAK. This is in fact the main reason for this thread.

I was just surfing for Saks on eBay in the UK, France, Germany and others and I saw some of red Safari's.  They have that my first Victorinox I want too just a lot of sellers for some reason don't want to ship to the US.

Luckily the standard Safari models can still be found today as you noted. However I am specifically looking for the custom ones assembled by +B, especially the one in the three blades configuration.

No standard Victorinox 108mm model carried all three large blades, why this custom model is so special, to me at least.

So far I've located two. Where are the others...  :D

:tool:  Right I wasn't paying attention, cool with the three blades.  Good luck.

The first one I ordered was "lost" in the mail, and Roger replaced it gratis (thanks again Roger).

If I remember correctly, Roger himself using new Vic parts hand-assembled 28 each of these two knives:
1. "Jung Jaeger": clip point plus c/s on reverse, $25.
2. "3 Blades": spear point, clip point, gutting blade, & c/s on reverse, $55.
These had red 108mm scales. The main blade was etched(?) "SwissBianco.com nnn"

The clip point blade is a nice change from the regular drop point.  But, I don't see why both blades in one knife?  Wouldn't that space be better used for one of those funky saw/bottle-opener tools in the 108 mm line?

Well, for fun, not necessary use, I like SAKs with as many blades as possible (short of being over the top). No standard 108mm carries all three and for my taste this combo packing all large blades from this series looks really appetizing.

Too bad you Heinz don't have a spare one around, we could have done a trade for something a bit more useful for you

Still hoping I will find one....

Would if I could, but right now I'm limiting myself to 74, 91, and 111 mm Vic models.  I've got a Wenger PER Ranger 179 that's my primary camping/hiking knife, and am seriously jonesing for a PER S16... not gonna get one any time soon though... got enough other stuff on my wish list for now, and I've got to cover a couple of upcoming purchases too... one for the SOG PowerDuo group buy, to replace my lost Skeletool CX! :D
