It is native to the area and there are several around, though they generally hide in the Game Reserve areas. Large numbers are also produced in farms and released just before the hunting season begins, but they are generally "tame" and offer no real challenge; they are really just for people to brag that they shot something and can not make it in the wild (we call the "chickens" and are usually found in groups near to where they were released).
The ones I was after today are proper wild ones and are a pain to shoot plus they tend to hide into the game reserve areas after the first few shots are heard. But, they are a very interesting and challenging game.
