SOG no longer selling individual tools?
on: December 25, 2025, 04:36:18 PM
Was poking around on the SOG website today, and couldn't find the option to buy individual tools for the Powerpliers anymore. Is it hiding somewhere and I missed it? If not, any recommendations for where to find them? Obviously eBay, but didn't know if there was anywhere better.

I noticed that, too. On top of that, none of my go-to "general knife retailers" seem to carry SOG replacement parts. Hopefully those parts are just temporarily offline.

Sadly, the only "parts" I've found are from resellers who buy full tools to sell by parts; haven't seen the Robertson, plain edge blade, wire stripper/gauge, or the likes in ebay for a while. There's a bladeless Powerlock Traveler on sale right now in ebay, NIB.

It's a shame if this is the route SOG are taking - I wish more manufacturers offered spare parts.

I'm pretty sure, as Antti Lammi wrote, that aliexpress have stepped in to fill the void - anyone ordered parts from them that could attest to the quality?

I placed an order October 16, 2025 for some random spare parts. I just checked and I haven’t received a shipping notice. This most likely explains why I never received my order. Guess I need to reach out to them to see if they will fulfill or reimburse.

I just wanted to say, this is one of the reasons I liked SOG was the fact you could fix your tool and swap parts as needed. Warranty service always feels like a hassle to me. Feels like we are moving more and more to a throw away society.

That was always a plus for me too.  They made "modular" tools before that was a concept.

The United Kingdom SOG website still sells them.

Even though shipping from the UK is too much hassle, seeing that replacement tools are still available somewhere is promising.
