Oh, don't go there.  I think I could list far to many facts and figures from the 3025 Battletech technical manual than could possibly be healthy. :-[

LOL.  I can also tell you that a Marauder had 16 of them and the Warhammer had 18.  Though the Marauder had more armour points (184 to the Warhammer's 160).  nerd?  Me?  Just possibly.

Lynn, since you like super heroes, did you play the Marvel RPG?

Which one? The old FASERIP? One of the number of games in between, or the current Margaret Weis Productions 'Marvel Heroic Roleplaying'? Who am I kidding? The answer is 'yes' to all of them.

I've also played in several very long Champions campaigns. We tried out the DC Adventures game last year, a very close relative of the 'Mutants and Masterminds' game.

As for the Battletech conversation... when it was getting big in the late 80's, my friends and I were playing Starfleet Battles, mostly. So I've done a little Battletech, but not much. I spent much more time blowing up Klingon D7s with a Federation heavy cruiser.

Heat sinks... heh. I think that's where I learned about them too.

I played a little Star fleet Battles as well, though I preferred playing the Kzinti (lots of drones IIRC).

oh my... D&D (1, 2, 3, 3.5, 3.6 Pathfinder), RuneQuest, BattleTech, WoD, Star Wars D6, and lots and lots of GURPS. :) Some of the best weekends in my life have been spent around a table throwing dice.

Aside from role play, Lynn also mentioned cryptozoology.  I'd like to point out that the name of a certain cryptozoological creature has appeared nearly 1,500 times on this forum at this point...  ;)  If you're not sure what I'm talking about, Google my screen name with a space between the "Y" and the "D" .  So much more than just a hockey team......

You mean Chupacabra? It's the Chupacabra, isn't it?
Me, being intentionally dense. :D

I'm still waiting (probably in vain), for them to find Tasmanian Tigers (Thylacine) left in the wild. The thought of having missed seeing such an incredibly cool animal alive on this planet by mere decades... That bums me out.

On RPGS... Emm... Let's see here, what have I played? Star Frontiers, Marvel Superheroes, D&D Red Box, AD&D, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Palladium, Robotech, Heroes Unlimited, Champions 2, Dr. Who, Spycraft, Paranoia, Call of Cthulhu, Star Wars D6, AD&D 2, Champions 3, Babylon Project, D&D 3, 3.5, Vampire: the Masquerade, 7th Sea, Serenity, Star Wars (d20 and Saga), Call of Cthulhu (d20), Mutants and Masterminds, Pathfinder, DC Adventures, Director's Cut, Marvel Heroic Adventures. Probably a bunch of others I've had one or two games in, but nothing long-term.

It's probably my primary hobby. I have to admit I'm more than a little shocked at the number of folks here who are gamers.

I really have to say that you probably shouldn't be surprised at the amount of nerds you find on the 'net....

I used to love TMNT and the original Star Wars RPG.  I played some AD&D (and others) but never really got into that as much as TMNT, Star Wars and Marvel Super Heroes.  This may make me sound completely dorkish, but my all time favorite was Elf Quest- I was a huge fan of the comics and anything else Pini I could get my hands on.

I have a co-worker who enjoy computer RPGs. I enjoy table-top RPGs. We've had some rather confusing moments until we've clarified whose hobby we were talking about. :)

Good thing there are no people (that I know of) in the office who really enjoy rocket propelled grenades.

And all this was basically to add some fluff to my congratulations to Lynn: Racking up writing credits is excellent!
