Never seen this thread, must have been while I was overseas.

Anyhow I will need, in writing an oath that this will never be seen by my wife.

So these are my users.

This one found it’s way into the picture but is not a user. Was a gift from the folks at Spyderco. Great surprise while I was deployed.

This is a user but one of my favorites so gets a special place here. A custom Bob made me a while back. Pocket clip and all the good tools with brass liners.

While this ZT 0200 is a user it is not used hard for obvious reasons. I also double posted on accident and needed something to say here.

Hi, I’m Nate, and I’m a knife and tool addict.
We're here to enable help. Nice assortment! :like:

Couldn't we change the thread to be all your non-users in one picture?
I'd need a step ladder to take that photo! :D

Heres mine. Ruike S31, Buck 309C, Ambassador, sportsman, Climber, Camper, Huntsman, Pioneer, Gardener, Budding/Pruning 3, PST, 3 layer Huntsman mod, and a 2 layer mod with clip. Oh and the Mora Companion HD.  These all see pretty heavy use. Everything else is in pieces waiting to become the next mod.

My user right now, I pull from the collection all the time. The XLT  is not in the rotation

I have probably a hundred or so multitools and only  use 6, all the rest are as new. Because as a collector (ex collector now really as can’t see me buying another multitool tool anytime soon) condition is everything.

And only really like stuff that’s mint or very well used, so would ideally prefer to have 99 mint tools and one well used over a hundred slightly used tools.

And I am jealous of those who can use everything because most of my tools were inspected on arrival and then put into storage to literally never see the light of day again. Which to any sane person is ridiculous as what’s the point of owning something you never so much as look at, never mind use.
At least if they were on display I would get some value from them .

Now I have developed an interest in traditional folders  I am fighting the urge to do the same.
And will try to (after today ) buy pre owned rather than new as I won’t feel the need to keep things mint if they are already used.

I once compared what we/I do to hoarding and I genuinely upset another member who had a bit of a go at me for even suggesting it

So to all the people here who can happily use all the stuff I  :salute: you

My trouble is i never show initiative, but that's only because no one has told me to.

Practically everything I've ever bought is still in my rotation. I'm not a collector, not even a hoarder, or at least I can rationalize every new acquisition: this one is more versatile, new and better material, lighter weight, has useful features, complements what I have, ideal for car, etc. Sometimes they break or get lost. I've only ever retired one folder, for sentimental value. Then there's the Box of Shame, where gimmicky novelty items and stupid purchases go to hide

But I'm tempted to take inventory, and maybe a photo... and maybe get some new items... Shame on everyone for making this thread and necroing it!

For me for work the wave could not be bettered so did   Not carry anything else. I experimented a bit with uk legal carries , cs4,, c2 and now a modded paratool.
Other than that I just wanted to catch them all for  catching them alls sake.

I have started to catch myself thinking the same about case knives. And to be fair if money was not an issue for me right now it would be fine. But right now i would be spending money I don’t have on things I don’t need.

And that is the difference  from when I was buying my multitools as I was spending money I did have on things I didn’t need

So I am going to try and find the otherwise unloved and all but forgotten about traditional knives currently languishing  in junk shops and boot sales across the land. Which is proving to be easier said than done.
My trouble is i never show initiative, but that's only because no one has told me to.

I fought the urge for one day, and here's my EDC rotation e.g. "users" laid out on my wife's yoga mat. Some actually live in the tool box, so they don't get carried a lot, but are indispensable for certain tasks. Not included are the multitude of outdoorsy fixed blades.

My only safe queens are OTF knives, and I rarely if ever carry them, because losing them to the Police would really sting.

These are my users, apart from a beat up Skeletool next to my bed,  a diesel in a kitchen drawer, and a cs4 in a walking bag.

It's the Police model, all stainless. My first Spydie from ca 1995, I think.

I have another "user" which, God forbid, I never want to use. It's the LM Raptor shears. They live in my IFAK and stay there.
