Found an old SAK...
on: August 05, 2012, 07:34:34 PM
Hey guys,

whilst moving, I found a what seems to be pretty old knife. Can someone here tell me what and maybe how old it is?

It's probably not that old.  What is the stamp on both sides of the blade?

The knife looks to be part of the economy/econoline line series.  There are posts somewhere with the information needed to date these.  Sorry I don't have a handy link right now.

Might be an economy Recruit with a broken small blade.

It is an Econoline Recruit. If the back for the blade says "Economy" then it's from the late 70s/early 80s. If the back of the blade says "Officier Suisse" it's from the mid 1980s.

See that one with the scissors. It has the older type scissors.

Quite old. Could be 60-75s etc. Not sure when Victorinox changed the scissors.
Its a Victorinox Climber.

I knew the 84 Climbers are discontinued. Didn't think it's that old though.

I beleive those are not really old scissors, simply 80s scissors with a broken spring.

And it does not have the clip point small blade you would expect on a 60s or 70s SAK.
You should seriously visit vicfan.com. All the hoopy froods are doing it.
