I have HD cutting discs but is the plier head to hard?  I was thinking going slow and plenty of cooling off would do the trick .  Anyone use their dremil and a HD cutting disc?  Not a big deal but since I am home today I was wanting to tinker about.

I used a Dremel with cutoff disks on one and a hacksaw with metal blade on another. Cleaned both up with a diamond sharpening plate. Both turned out fine.

I didn't even think about a hacksaw.  Thanks for the reply.

A hacksaw works but it still gets hot, save your energy and use the dremel.

Good excuse to buy a bench grinder.  After you are done with the Kick, you can use it on your toenails.

Ok the deed is done.  Pretty darn easy with the HD cutting disk.  Thanks for the replies.

I'd like to clean it up a bit but what a difference it makes.  It's not totally symetrical but I was anxious to put up pictures.  Still need to file a bit more to even the head out better.  Glad I did it and for anyone who wants to have a go at it, GO FOR IT.

Thanks to Brother Zoidberg, a couple of months ago I blunted the pliers on my Surge with a grinder.  Both flavors of plier heads have their advantages.

Its almost magical how the pliers meet only at the end, just like they did before the grind.

About the only mistake that cannot be undone is to remove too much material.

I see you've already done it but I'll answer anyway for those who might be looking for info on it.

Hold the tool you're working with or working on but not both ie if using a dremel or angle grinder then use a vise or clamp to hold the tool you're working on.

Use cutting disks over grinding type parts even if you're grinding instead of cutting, this will create less heat and help prevent you from being heavy handed.

Really take your time, allow an hour or so. Half to cut the ends off and half to clean up the ends. Do a little, remove and check it, do a little more, check it again.

Wear eye, ear and hand protective gears. A hot needle nosed tip to the eye at grinder speed will probably ruin more than just your day. Be safe people.
