What's wrong with this BuckTool?
on: August 29, 2012, 09:06:20 PM
I just got this 360 BuckTool. I had to get it because it is very odd. Do you see why?  ???

Yes it appears to be a Buck Factory tool. I can not find any reason to think it has been modified.

Thanks I do not see errors in these very often. I do know that some were stamped with the Phillips markings on the handle reversed, but I have not seen one in person yet.

Factory booboos are fun!  I had a SideClip with an unground screwdriver that I accidentally sent to Dunc, I have a mislasered Skeletool (it's marked Freestyle) and a few others and I love the quirkiness.  It reminds you that each of these was actually made by a person rather than being stamped out on an assembly line by machines.

The handles are labeled properly, and they have identical implements. For those who do not know one side should have a serrated Sheepsfoot knife blade and three sizes of slotted screw drivers.   I have to think the implements are already in the handles when they are installed on the Pliers head.
So it is 4:55PM Friday afternoon and some worker was already thinking about having a "cold one" instead of what they are working on. So they grab the same handle instead of the two different ones.
I have always enjoyed the mistakes as, it lets you know some one (besides me) had a moment.

Now I know who was bidding against me!  Or more correctly who I was bidding against...the person I suspected all along - LOL

I think the tool was done on purpose because both handles are correctly marked for the tools but if I remember correctly one side was 3D tools and the other 2D tools?

Really nice score...at least I won the Black Oxide Bucktool at about the same time as that one went.

Just got back to internet after a relaxing weekend camping.

No wonder I have to pay so much for these!  :P

As for the tools they are all 2D. Both sides are identical. With out knowing more about how these were built (some in Mexico) it is hard to say how or if this was intentional.

WTG on the Black Oxide  I was watching that one also.  I will only bid high if I do not already have some thing.

Nice one LB! :tu: I've got a Leatherman Wave with two identical sets of tools (see below) And I've seen an old Gerber Multi-Plier that had the same blades in each handle, but yours is the first BuckTool I've seen like this. :D

In order to be certain of having the right tool for every job.........one must first acquire a lot of tools
