Gerber Sharpening - Mini Paraframe
on: August 31, 2012, 05:41:20 PM
My dad bought me a knife sharpener since he knew I was looking for one, and it was the Gerber pocket sharpener. It came with a mini paraframe - knew knife for me, can't complain. It wasn't terribly sharp so I figured I'd give it a whirl sharpening it, and I've been 'swiping' it through the sharpener about 20+ times, and it's 'sharp', but not anywhere like my SAK's after using them on the sharpener.

What's the deal? Do I just need to use the sharpener more, or is the blade just not a terrible sharp blade?

Use a marker pen to paint both sides of the blade edge then run it a few times through the sharpener , you will then see where the metal is being removed, if theres still ink right on the edge then you need to keep going.
