One of the best moments in raising a dog comes when he outsmarts you, the kids or another dog.  You've got to love their bizarre wiring and the amazing schemes they come up with to solve the problems you throw in front of them.  If he takes after his collie side he'll be faster than anything you've encountered before, and he'll be able to think even faster.  Consider yourself warned!  :D

Def

:D  i dont think he will be as fast moving as the 2 lurchers i had but i know he will be very clever as collies are highly inteligent dogs, my friend has got a 14 week old collie so walks could be fun  :D Im ready for it Def  ;)    :salute:

It always amazes me how forgiven and adaptable animals are, he has chilled right out at our house and has been playing nicely with the girls and sleeping when he is tired, he has become a new member of the family very fast , he was sleeping earlyer in his new bed and put all his new toys in the bed  :D he probably has OCD like me  and now he is running around the dinning room,

Soul looks a ripper mate 8) 8). I wish our new dog, Bruce would learn to heal  :ahhh :ahhh , he is better than he was but he still has a ways to go.

'Good friend Rabbit'   . I remember our other dog , Kipper's , good friend 'Teddy' . Poor old Ted ended up getting shagged by kip & then his head fell off ,  Kip would run around the back yard with Ted's head in his mouth  :ahhh :ahhh , quite the disturbing image I can tell you  :ahhh :D. Still makes me & my eldest son   when we mention it though :D :D. No more soft toys for kip after the Ted experience  ::) :D,poor Ted  :D
I hope Rabbit does not go the way Ted went  :D :D

Ted   i can see rabbit going the same way mat  :D but then i think any of the girls soft toys would if he could get hold of them, it took soul 3 weeks to decide to come up the stairs as he has the whole of the down stairs at night other than the lounge as we close the door, he didnt like being locked up in the kitchen as kept us awake, we had to put a stair gate on the stairs  :-\  i thought we saw the end of those things  :D he has got a fetish for internet cable though so i had to mod that so he doesnt chew it  :D i think the healing part can be one of the hardest things mate, soul heals ok until he picks up the scent of the girls school and then he pulls and he does the same with the house scent  :ahhh but im sure ill get it sorted before he is bigger  :tu:  im really enjoying the walks as its one of the things i missed when my last dog passed away, i chat to everyone including a couple of homeless guys the other day down the park, for me its the good part of owning a dog is the getting out as i do night shifts and with being tired i tend to hide away in doors so he gets me out and about  :tu:

He's growing into a fine looking animal!

Speaking of decapitated toys, if you want to have some fun with your dog, buy a plastic severed arm- most store will have put them away with the Halloween decorations by now, but ask around, and check thrift and novelty shops for them.  You will laugh your arse off seeing people's reactions when they see your dog running along with something in his mouth.  At first it's "Look at the happy dog, isn't he so cute?" and it's followed by "Oh, what's that odd shaped thing in his mouth?  It doesn't look like a ball, stick or frisbee?  Some new kind of toy perhaps?" and finally finishes off with "OH MY GOD IT'S SOMEONE'S ARM!"

I swear you will wet yourself when it happens....

well a little up date on soul, he pretty much walks off the lead and even does tricks  :tu: you can see the border collie in him intelegence wise , ive not had a dog so clever, so training is going great, went backwards for a week or 2 but now back on track since the kids off school, he is around border collie size and i dont think he will get much bigger, we found out he is a border collie lab cross and came from the farms in ireland where they work them, he loves the kids and herds them up and keeps them together  :D and he amazed me the other day when i told him to stay with the girls while i went over to a bin for a poo drop off  :D  he stayed sat there the whole time  :tu: anyway a pic of him yesterday  :tu:
