help me date my huntsman?
on: October 19, 2012, 06:34:40 PM
I still haven't figured out putting pics on my computer from my ridiculous camera, or from my phone which I'm on now, so I have to describe it. Any questions will be answered!

Main blade: victorinox/Switzerland/stainless/rostfrei, on the back officier Suisse under crossbow with plus
Corkscrew: has channel, four? Turns
Awl: no hole (figured it's worth mentioning)
Hook: doesn't have one
Scissors: screw for pivot
Cap lifter: no 90 degree stop
Shield: golden
Keyring: mounted below blades, half width

Any ideas?

Anywhere between 1974 and 1985 based on what you list here. Most likely a late 70s version, say 1976-1979.

I can give you a date on most Victorinox knives down to a couple year span but I need to see pictures of the knife. There are many small details to look for (how the scissors were made, shape of the awl, etc).

According to the blade stamp, between 1974-2005.
A photo will help.

Agree with the range, but the gold shield causes me to lean towards the earlier part of it.

And in any other forum, the title might be misleading and lead one to wonder about red hoods and wolves....

First you get to know your Huntsman see what he likes what he doesn't like.

Do a couple hair flips look in his eyes and ask him out. ;)
