Topeak Rocket Ratchet Lite?
on: August 31, 2012, 02:47:13 AM
Anybody have the Rocket Ratchet Lite? It looks like the same thing as the normal Ratchet rocket, except: the hard case is replaced with a nylon one, the tire levers aren't included, and there's no chain tool. Does anybody have one, who can comment on the quality? Photos are appreciated, even if it's just a normal Ratchet Rocket.

I can attest it is the same tool.  I have one and the tool its self is of good quality.  I have had it for years and use is regularly with no issues.

me too, I specifically got that version as I do not have use for the bike specific tools. One thing to keep in mind though:

-you need an extension, any standard size will do
-it only comes with hex-drives, get a bit kit.

I bought a small bit kit with mag-adapter, and I tend to change the load out as I see fit. The nylon pouch is great and has nice suspenders to keep both the ratchet and the bits from falling out.

I keep the Vic wrench and extension in with my Ratchet Lite kit along with a Widgy prybar.

this nylon sheath looks much friendlier than the hard case for EDC. I may have to think about it.

Yep, I've been using it for about a month now and must say I'm impressed. Teamed up with a basic SAK (eg Compact or Climber etc) it's a great combo, very useful indeed. I will swap a few of the bits though as I defo don't need that many hex bits on a daily basis!

Regards, Jon.
