Compact MT With A Magifying Glass
on: October 23, 2012, 05:23:01 AM
Does anyone know of a compact MT with a magnifying glass?  I've looked at Victorinox and Wenger, but the models that I have found are too large and bulky for the use that I have in mind.

If you're not willing to pay the clams for a Yeoman, an Explorer is probably as close as you can get.

That's not actually a Yeoman, it's an Explorer.

Not a Multi per se but you can get one of those Toologic cards

Other idea could be to pair your multi with a magnifying card...

Even a Hands Free one... :D

Or for a fancy steampunk look...   :multi:

A folding monocle

Or a Telescope Ring

I've carried a fresnel lens in my wallet for a while and it's been very useful

Thank you for all of the replies.  A small glass on a small SAK or other MT would be most helpful because I am trying to reduce the number of individual items that I currently carry.  I've got a small tool ring in my pocket that has a set of tweezers, a pry bar, a small probe, flashlight, pill fob and a fresnel ldens in my wallet.

I am trying to reduce the load to a flashlight, pill fob and a small MT.  Putting the magnifying glass on the MT would move it out of my wallet which not only makes my wallet slimmer, it also makes it easier to deploy the lens.

It was called a BSA Yeoman even though it IS clearly an explorer.  I dont really quite understand why.

As a glasses wearer, the small screwdriver that goes into the corkscrew on a SAK is an essential tool for me.  However, I always had the problem that once I took my glasses off to tighten the screw, I couldn't see it anymore!!!

Now that my Cybertool Lite is my favorite EDC SAK (which includes a mag-glass), I don't have that problem anymore.   :tu:

You could have an Explorer modded down by removing any layer you didn't feel was absolutely necessary, like the scissors.

Also... Thanks Ombudsman, now I >need< a telescope ring.   :D
