My older brother was WA7ZWP, my younger brother WB7WFN (later he was allowed to drop to W7WFN).

That's new. Used to be you had to send and receive so many words/minute (5 characters/word).
HC, they were Hams back in the early to mid 70's.

Ham Instructor / VE here,
You actually do not need CW (Morse Code) for any level of license anymore. It was dropped entirely a couple years ago.

at all? thank god I wanted to move up for 10 meter but the code was killing me. My Elmer kept telling me that one day it will just click. Well know what? He lied....

I understand teh use of code. But the whole thing was just something I could never get. At least now I get to upgrade and play in 10 meter
