forgot about SAK, rediscovered them now
on: November 30, 2012, 04:40:25 PM
hello everybody,

I recently rediscovered the Swiss miracle-knives. I owned one of them as a child, many, many years ago. the thing got lost and - I know, hard to believe - I forgot that SAK's existed.
Until I stumbled upon a Victorinox-website by accident.

Did a lot of research (most of it on this forum), and a couple of weeks ago bought the Workchamp. It hasn't left my side since.

But, as addictions go, I was still not satisfied. So, again after reading up on this forum, I decided to buy a Leatherman Charge TTI.

I Hope I can control myself for a while now (I think my bank-manager thinks the same), although I truly like the Swisstool also .... and the Swisschamp .... and .... OMG, I'm going crazy

Welcome aboard  :tu: Congratulations on the reawakening  :D

You appear to be missing a Victorinox Spirit and Compact from your wishlist, and it would be remiss of me not to correct such a glaring ommission  :P :D :D

Lock away your wallet mate - stick around here and it'll get expensive .... but it'll be fun too

Welcome!  I forgot about SAKs once too, then rediscovered them.  After finding this site though, I've found now that it's there are SAKs I forgot I own!  :ahhh  ;)  Hide the wallet and forget your PIN number, we're all a bunch of shameless enablers here.  :tu:

Thanks for the warm welcome. But to be honest, I'm kind of angry at all of you here. After 2 weeks of reading on this forum, I was totally confused: Victorinox or Leatherman. So I blame all of you, because I could only resolve this dilemma by buying both.

I hope you all feel very, very guilty.

And I hope you are feeling even worse when I tell you that my next paycheck is gonna go to my Swiss friends, because I felt the urge to buy a Swisschamp XLT.

And for those who are wondering: I WILL EDC the XLT, even if it will cause backproblems. That's how stubborn I am.

I was like you.  SAK and Buck knives as a kid and drifted away from such tools.  Then one day, discovered the Leatherman AL - where has this been all my life!?!

Those are good tools that you're starting with.  You might think about a one piece wrench to back them up, like a Piranha.  That will complete your doom.  Welcome to the dark side!
