Potential skeletool mod
on: December 06, 2012, 06:56:40 AM
I was thinking about getting a skeletool and replacing the blade with the scissors from a surge. I have a dedicated knife that I carry everyday so I won't need a blade on whatever tool I carry. Has anyone done this or something similar or know if it can be done fairly easily?

You may have better luck with Wingman scissors. Surge scissors will be way to big for it.

Alternatively, Vic scissors may work.

there is a mod here i saw done that adds a scissors to the skeletool, looked quite nice.  I believe it would be possible to remove knife and do the same thing.

that said the blade on the skeletool is a nice shape and comfortable to use...a person can't have too many blades on person  :tu:

but i understand the sentiment, I replaced the main blade with tools on a couple of my saks because i carry a dedicated blade as well and i wasn't using them.

i edc my skeletool along with dedicated blade and it's my backup,,,,

Evil's mod. One of my all time favorite multitool mods.

Yeah evils is pretty awesome. A little outside my skills though unfortunately. I found a skeletool to look at and compare with some different scissors. The scissors for a sak handyman or other 88mm (?) sak look to be a perfect length. Now to find some....

Found another option that may work better if anyone is interested. Mill down the aluminum spacer that holds the extra bit and use wave scissors. Then just use a Phillips/flat bit in the driver
