I was thinking of one of the synthetic stone benchtop materials which are ground stone in a resin binder, or perhaps I can get a sandstone flooring tile but I think they are quite thick. then there is the "problem" of working it... much Googling to do still on this problem.

I see some of the top designers now using crushed stone in good resins so they can get get a high quality finish in a stone that is easier to work with in design. The price of some of this stone is as expensive as the natural. Torquise is one that seems to have a fair bit of knowledge since the good mines are getting very depleted, but demands remainds... so the artificial synthetics are increasingly being used even in the most expensive pieces. It will be awesome to see a new addition to this collection.
Nephite or Jadite would be choice! I know GE formulated artificial jade back in the 50s but I do not know if it was ever produced. Jade Sak, very very deluxe.
That ebony is nice, but waiting for the paua.
looks like at least one Recruit will be turning up to parade in uniform...
