Cooking a vegan stew with some help from the SwissChamp, since most all of our properly sharpened kitchen knives are being washed.

The picture does not show it but smells good

P.S.: Now that it’s finished, can confirm it also tastes good

Vegetarian, since more than a decade now. Not quite vegan, for practical reasons, but I tend to cook vegan.

Used the blade on my cadet to open a box . My wife has be bugging me to get a tv for the bedroom so I picked one up today, and took it out of the box. Now I dread the bright lights of the TV while I am trying to go to sleep. I know I will regret this purchase  :-[

XAVT was needed for changing pocket clip side on my new Extrema Ratio. First I needed the bit and then the flashlight on locating small screws from the floor:

With the holidays coming I find I am using my SAK every single day , several times a day.
I am opening more amazon packages than usual , cutting opening holiday snacks, opening letters, putting toys together . Its a great time for SAK users !
I have been using my Cadet, Climber and Pioneer like crazy. and thats on TOP of my normal daily use.

Exactly! It came with a butterfly clutch on the back, which must be a replacement. It doesn't seem to fit quite right.

And I would call it a mini Huntsman. kamakiri did an inlay of the same graphic, so it must have been an anniversary pin.

I used the Philips driver on my Spirit to tighten screws on a doorknob and then the scraper to get a couple labels off medicine bottles.

Multiple things on the Super Tinker were used as well. The awl to pierce a hole in some packaging, can opener to open a can of cranberry sauce, scissors to cut something and then the backside Philips and small Philips to tighten screws on a dining room chair.
I knew my wife was a keeper when she transitioned from calling it a knife thingy to a multi-tool.

I might be crazy but it's kept me from going insane- Waylon Jennings

I used the screwdriver on the end of the file on my Rambler to tighten the screws on a door knob that had worked themselves loose. It’s really good for that and I bet a Classic SD would work even better because the whole SAK is thinner.

I tried the phillips first and the head was just a bit too small.

I used this modified sak to open the package that this patch came in,, the funny thing was that the Rx had no clue that she ordered it from my wishlist even though we both sat on the couch when she did order it with other stuff..

We seem to have lost every flashlight in the house somehow. So today I used the main blade on my Recruit to cut into the blasted plastic blister packaging the new ones I bought came in.

One more for last night!

I used the excellent Phillips on my Rambler to change the batteries on one of my daughters toys. I swear, that was the smallest battery compartment screw on a child's toy I've ever seen! I've used the back Phillips on a Tinker on most of my kids' toys but it would not have worked on this one. That thing was eye-glass screw sized!

Fortunately, the Rambler's 58mm combo tool Phillips was perfect for the job.  :drink:

:iagree: That 58mm phillips is wonderful. Was at the store to get coin cell batteries for partners "fairy" lights.  I thought she knew which she needed but she didn't open the back on the lights.  Manager to the rescue.  I love that its magnetized as well. 2032 was the cell and she bought nearly all they had.  Turns out each light took 2 cells and she had quite a few lights that needed new cells.

I got a new plastic name plate for my desk at work ( mine was old and damaged). I used the large flathead screwdriver and nail file on my Cadet to pry my name off my old nameplate so I could put it in the new one.

Yesterday, I used my SAK to change a lightbulb, LOL!

At work we have the most annoying ceiling lights in these apartments you’ve ever seen. The glass cover is like a solid shallow bowl and it twists into place rather than using any sort of set screws to secure it. The bulbs burn out inside them and have to be replaced periodically. Well, for some reason, maybe heat related, the glass feels like it welds itself in place and you cannot get it off to save your life. It is wedged solid! What’s worse is that many of the lights are poorly installed and sometimes the whole fixture twists off of the mount screws instead so the whole thing just drops down in your hands, hanging by the wires, with the glass cover still firmly wedged in place, making it now even harder to get it off. Worse still is that all of them are mounted to old work boxes and the little plastic tabs are also just as likely to break while I’m fiddling with trying to twist the glass cover off. When that happens, then I go from changing a light bulb to doing a complete removal, repair, and reinstall.

But, I’ve discovered that I can use the bottle opener on my 91mm SAK as a gentle pry tool and go around the light prying against the cover just a bit and it will then twist right off. This has been a tremendous help. I can go into these apartments with just a bulb and a SAK and feel reasonably sure that’s all I need. In and out in 5 minutes. Otherwise I normally have to leave and return with a ladder, a new ceiling box, and a set of tools, and spend 30 minutes on a job that shouldn’t even need to be done.

I’ve now done this several times with great success and I no longer dread changing these bulbs.
