Made a bracelet a tad longer on my Hamilton Jazzmaster Day Date today. Quite frankly it was my first attempt on messing around with a bracelet size - went quite well using just a cheap Chinese tool and a large flathead + pliers on my Work Champ

It’s been a while since I had this watch on my wrist - it loses the practicality game to an Apple Watch despite Hamilton is way more beautiful and inspiring.

I had an Apple Watch and a Garmin and stopped wearing them… I should for the HRV notifications, but I just miss the analog. A good watch is hard to beat, especially that Hamilton.

Sprit pliers have got quite a bit of use - best usage has been pulling open a storage unit slide handle. Ours is particularly rusted, and there’s just enough of an end piece to grab ahold and push to open/lock.  :multi:

Spirit serrated blade, scissors, and Philips driver have done their fair share of work setting up window AC units. Same for the Explorer handed off the to wife. And, the Alox MC combo tool, slotted, and blade kept the kids happy opening some new toys and installing batteries.

My wife grew to rely on my PBMT or SAK while moving, and we now officially have a convert. His and Hers Explorers. Now she just has to decide if she wants an Alox MC, Midnite MC, or Midnite Manager for the keychain.  The PBMT is the next step, after which I officially become useless

Used the pliers of my Spirit XC to unravel a ten inch long piece of rebar binding wire from the front wheel of a lawnmower. Guess I lost it in the grass about a month prior when fixing the chicken lot fence.

When I was working up in the roof today, fitting a sky light, I had the need for a sharp implement to cut around the insulation for the hole.
Reached into my pocket for my handy Wave with which to make the precision circular incision and ...
"Oh no" there was no knife in my pocket.

I know I put the damn thing there this morning, but a hole in the pocket of my tracky dacks gave the wave an opportunity to escape.

Put the installation on hold to find the wave.
Searched everywhere, could not find the damn thing.
Had to climb down and grab the backup wingman to complete the job and stupidly put it in the same pocket.

Climbed down and frlt for the wingman.....
"Oh no" not again.
Back up the ladder, shined the torch around and spied a silver glimmer hiding in the insulation between the rafter.
It were the wave, but where were the wingman?
Further searching found it hiding just near the man hole cover.
I was complete again.

That's one hole to be patched in my pants.

So, today I used the wingman.

Philips head screwdriver on my Spirit helped replace two bulbs in two fixtures in the living room.
I knew my wife was a keeper when she transitioned from calling it a knife thingy to a multi-tool.

Tightened the screws on my Julbo Explorer 2.0 sunglasses today using an eyeglass screwdriver on Swiss Champ. Love those sunglasses - purchased them for mountaineering, but first it was Covid-19 and now because of war we can’t really travel abroad anymore, but surely will one day . But even in the urban environment their Reactiv technology that adapts to the level of light is just awesome

Totally agree, yet notifications do save me a lot of time and effort at work and workouts, so glad I can have the best of both from time to time - wearing a Hamilton on weekends brings true pride of mind

Two things I wish my Hamilton would have though is a magnetically resistant mainspring and a titanium case - but no watch is perfect

A coworker of mine was using a step ladder with a couple rough metal spots and was pricking himself on it. He asked if I had a metal file. Out came my Spirit and filed the 3 spots down.

Bit of work with the Marlboro Outdoorsman in the garden and trimming rogue trees around the new house perimeter.

The trimmer didn’t get a few of these thick trees.

Used the SwissChamp's small blade, inline Phillips, and scissors to unbox the 1:24 scale Smokey and the Bandit Trans Am I bought on impulse at Walmart today.

This is the first car I remember drooling over. Then I saw the Ferrari 308 on Magnum P.I. in the '80s.   ;)

Used the Phillips on my Rambler to remove a bunch of screws from the bottom of a dead laptop so I could extract the hard drive.

Used my mini champ to shave plastic off my new sim card. And mark my old one with my Adventurer so I knew which
one was new and old. Sim card still won't work. I get data but  no text or cell. I wish we could all go back to no cellphones...
