I'm pretty sure I mainly use my SAKs for photo opportunities:

 :like:

This post resonated with me.  When I retired, I wanted to enjoy photography again but was way overdue for knee surgery.  It was just before Christmas and I kept photographing Christmas decorations, especially the small figures on our piano.  I can only imagine my photo ops if I had my SAKs.

Used my Pruner (new to me) main blade to cut and remove the masses of fat (about 1/3 weight) off two large briskets I've been brining for about 10 days. I then used the pruner blade to open a bag of coal. Then the main blade to cut down a 6X1" stick of fatwood into slivers as fire starter for the smoker. After that peeled and cut up some raw carrots to snack on. It was still shaving arm hair after that. Colour me impressed.

Used the Explorer's awl to punch through cardboard on a Boy Scout Klondike sled to zip tie it to the sled sides.

Used the big flat screwdriver on the Craftsman to put together a hanging file folder frame for the desk.

Well, it's not really what i did with it... It's rather what i did to them... Changing scales on a couple of new backup Tinker´s today  :D
It takes patience on the vice to get the new scales flush with the outer liners, to give it a factory look. And when you tighten, you have to let it sit for a bit before you relief pressure on it. It turned out ok i guess  :tu:

Had no dedicated tool under the hand, so I made an hole with my superTinker awl, and then used my mp400 Phillips driver to screw the coat hanger on the hard wood
It's amazing how the mp400 can withstand so much torque!

Used the can opener on my Spirit to open a can of potatoes and also the scissors to open a bag of veggie meat..
I knew my wife was a keeper when she transitioned from calling it a knife thingy to a multi-tool.

I was heading out the door to run some errands when I saw that my wife had finished the contents of a container of dried fruit.  I used the razor-sharp safety blade of my Minichamp II to score around the top of the container so as not to remove the colorful wrap of the container before removing the plastic top seal.  The Minichamp made short work of the internal seal as well.  All of this took a fraction of the time it took me to type this description.  All three of my Minichamps were acquired less than a month ago to replace my 36 year old Classic SD (still in fantastic shape).

I had removed my Classic SD from the keychain prior to purchasing the Minichamps in order to give the Leatherman PS4 a chance.  I liked the idea of having the pliers but never used them.  Interestingly, I needed the file multiple times.  Once the first Minichamp arrived, it replaced the PS4 immediately.  Despite the PS4 pliers and superior file, the Minichamp will remain my go-to keychain multi-tool.  I may decide to bring the PS4 on future errands but it will be as a supplement to the Minichamp.

I used a vintage SwissMemory (64 MB) to carry a few documents to a printing service. Current models have 16 GB. It's not enough to re-enact WikiLeaks but you could carry hundreds or even thousands of books effortlessly.

I used the back strap Philips screwdriver on my GAK to take the back panel off of my stove.  It fit perfectly as a conventional screwdriver was too long.

Amici,
So far today I've used my Craftsman to cut open as well as break down several cardboard toner boxes, removed a cover from a desktop computer, tightened the screws on a plasma screen wall mount, used the scissors to assist me trimming the wires contained within a CAT 5 network cable before crimping, the pliers to remove a jammed object from a printer, and the main blade to slice a bagel to go along with my coffee. So far so good! ..

Cheers,
Serge

It's funny how some days we will use it for almost nothing, and then others it seems that it never stay in our pocket for long, eh?

Ditto's Danjo!! I couldn't agree with you more..

Since it's lunch time, nothing compares to the Swiss when it comes to cutting utensils, especially since I abhor the thought of using plastic on Avocados!!
