My wife and I were putting together some patio furniture this afternoon, and of course the last cross nut on one of the chair arms was stripped and the bolt wouldn’t tighten.  Off to Home Despot we go and manage to find a replacement cross nut and bolt in a different thread pitch than the factory parts.  Only problem is I get it home and the head on the new bolt was too wide.

So I did what any resourceful SAK owner would do... I chucked the bolt into my drill press and used the awesome stainless file on my space shuttle (master craftsman) to file the head down until it fit.  We’re pretty happy with the results.

Y'know that trick MacGyver always did on the show, of picking a lock by just inserting the backside awl?  That actually worked for me today!

I was taking care of the trash at my store, and needed to run the compactor, which needs a key to operate it.  It must be very worn out, because I just poked the awl on my OHT in the keyhole,  turned it like a key, and it started right up!

I thought maybe any key-like object would work, so I tried it again with my house and car keys, and the nail file on my Esquire, but no luck, only the awl is shaped right for this particular job.

Tried some whittling with the Ranger.
The Ranger seems great for whittling.
Myself needs some practise though

Behold! A fork...

this little guy is never going to grow that big!
I grew it from seed to live forever inside this glass dome pot that a friend made for me.
it has humidity control vents, built in led grow lights and although it doesnt show well in the picture, it even has a tiny working water fall built into the pot.

Used can opener and the can key Phillips on a Small Tinker to open a can of corned beef with onion for making my custom sandwich spread. Had bagel with some of the newly made sandwich spread on it for dinner.

Details in the SAKs and Spread thread (including recipe for the custom corned beef sandwich spread).

As its that time of year again and homeowners are getting their gardens in check. My neighbor called round with his old strimmers and says its not running right when I press the throttle so I took a look at it and adjusted the throttle adjuster screw. Swisstool on my hip to the rescue.
