I used my climber to modify my personal fan that I keep in a cubby under my computer. The way the switch is makes it kinda hard to turn on or off since I have to reach into the cubby and feel my way to find the recessed switch and then grip it with my index and thumb and turn it.

I used the flathead screwdriver to pop the switch off...

... then used the awl to make a pilot hole...

***Side Note*** Is it just me, or is the awl on these models just terrible compared to the ones on the Alox ones? I love using the awl on my Pioneers, but I dread using the ones on my climbers. Am I doing something wrong? Every time I use it it wants to collapse. Anywho...

... then I used the can opener with the Phillips tip to install a screw...

... and voila! Now I can easily flick the switch with my finger! More leverage, and no twisting involved!

Same here. I don’t like the awl on the backside either. Love it on my Spirit and looking forward to test it on the Farmer i have coming in. It should have arrived today but looks like USPS smurfed up again

Nifty uses ! I'll just add that Felix Imler seems to do awlright  with the 91mm awl....

Nice video! Thanks! I figured it was my technique. Recently I’ve been using the “bouncer in a streetfight” technique, but I’m gonna try his approach lol.

Since I started using the Alox awl quite often, I sorta backtracked and started using the one on the 91mm models for similar things if I had one with me.  I basically use the Alox awl for anything that could otherwise be done with the point of the blade.  I'd say maybe the 91mm backspring awl is not as versatile as the Alox awl - not as simple to use for things it's not meant for (prying, splitting, opening, etc).  But it's just great for putting holes in wood and leather... sometimes better because it comes to a point rather than a bit of a claw.

Just my thoughts.

Used the scissors of the Spirit to remove tags of some pants that came in the mail today. Used the chisel to open the box prior to removing the tags  :twak:

Used the awl of the Farmer to open a zip tie, so i could re-use it. Just realized that I forgot to take any pictures

A used capsule got stuck in the coffee maker. Used the pliers from my XLT and removed the used one.

Now I have coffee...

Yesterday at my store I had to swap out the sidecap displays, and my Alox Soldier got plenty of use.  First, I needed the main screwdriver to loosen the screws holding the old display to the shelving frames. Next, I used the small screwdriver as a wrench to loosen the finger-bolts on the new display so i could switch sides on it. Finally, I punched some extra holes with the awl to attach some zip-ties to stabilize the whole thing on the shelves.

Later, when I got home, the mail included my birth year Alox Soldier, fresh from Switzerland. Great shape, if dirty.

Here’s one... Not today, but yesterday at work. I was uh... going #2 and was done, and of course the roll was finished. And it’s in one of those metal dispensers that you slide a door on the bottom to dispense the second roll so ok, cool, I do that and thankfully I can feel that there is indeed a second roll in there. Well, the jerks that remodeled our bathrooms made that stall wall really close to the toilet, and the dispenser is mounted to it so it’s right up against my leg. They also mounted it really low, like if I’m getting paper I’m pretty much waving at whoever is in the stall next to me. So it’s awkward getting paper as it is, then you know how with new rolls you have to find the tag end and pull it to get it going? Well... I couldn’t find it. I tried and tried, and just couldn’t. I started getting desperate. I was tearing at the roll with no success and I had no idea what I was going to do.

Enter the Climber.

I got the bright idea to use the small blade to just cut across the roll and then pull at the separated layer and it worked! I got that roll going and was able to leave that stall nice and clean! SAK saves the day!

No picture of the incident for obvious reasons, but here is the blade that saved the day!
