Had to reseal some cabinets at work today. SAK was perfect for getting under the o-rings.

Nothing spectacular, but I used  an SD to remove scales from a Rambler to make it a manager.

Used my pliers to fish out a deeply lodged staple from a friends running shoe that was pushing up through the sole and into the insole. Used the big blade to help with some electrical work while installing a new outside light. Nothing overly onerous for a Swiss champ.  ;)

Wish I had a picture but my sprinkler that you hook up to a hose was not shooting water out very well.  On the end of the sprinkler is a tool to clean out the sprinkler holes but it was too tight to get out by hand.  The Super Tinker bottle cap opener was able to catch the ridges on the piece to loosen it and tighten back into place.  I love SAKS!   :tu:

Used the bottle opener on my Explorer to snap the locking clips off  some worn out wiper blades to make replacement easier.

No pictures, because I was at work, but I used the can opener tip on my Deluxe Tinker to tighten the screws on an interior doorknob, then used the back of the tool to hammer the latch assembly back into place. Now the door works again. Hooray!

Looking at Sos’s thread on her firebox nano reminded me to try out this super lightweight little camp stove, bit fiddly to put together but works well enough.
Don’t think it’ll replace the esbit but a good back up

Used the back of the farmer’s saw to strike the ferro rod, kapok fibre and fat wood shavings got it going in a flash

Interesting stove.

I used to be an ESBIT-er but switched over 5 years back to a primitive little trangia canister stove that burns  hot on methanol that I buy in plastic containers called HEET in USA. Like most I lay an ultra lite titanium grate on top and boil soup and tea quickly while backpacking.

I just looked and AMAZON IS FULLOF TRANGIA CLONES NOW, so this paleo spirit burner must still be competitive.

I tried many back packing stoves and preferred the MSR, but I just got sick of the bottle, connector, burner assembly and maintenance hassle. If I really had to go high and long, I would revert to MSR because it works great in wind -and super cold, but I don’t. So the ease of Trangia wins.

For car camping I prefer and use a 30 year old Coleman two burner white gas stove plus a Coleman Peak one burner multi fuel. Both are pretty indestructible, bought for nothing at thrift stores, and the Peak can run on gasoline syphoned from my car tank in a pinch. I like a two burner and a one burner, instead of a three burner,  so if one breaks I can still cook.

If I snag two more PEAKs, I may retire the old two burner and just keep  three PEAKs in the trunk. I find the stoves used for $5-10 each.

I actually collect old Coleman stoves and lanterns pre 1980, preferably pre 1960. Not to make money. I just love the old things.

Propane canister stoves are increasingly showing up for nothing in thrift stores, and pre Coleman merger Campgaz stoves are interesting but since I can’t find the old canisters any more I don’t collect them.

I’m also a sucker for any old brass kerosene or Camphene oil lamp with a duplex wick burner, or a round wick burner. I love sitting around a patio table at night with two kerosene lamps lit. Some people hate the smell, but I love it.

More than you probably wanted to know, so I will stop.
