Those clicking sounds can really drive you nuts! I have a gravel road up to my house or at least the last 1000 meters so I know that sound all to well

Didn’t snap pic because too excited but used the scissors on the ambassador to clip the tag off of my new wool hat from Black sheep knitwear. Super cozy and warm.

Not exactly a SAK but SAK alike Ruike, to fix a door hinge... And that makes me think that inline its the only way to go. Its fine to have a non inline in something like a Soldier 08 for its more a outdoors knife, but for home/work urban inline its 99% better.

Opening bags of salt to spread on the driveway, and tightened the handle on a snow shovel. I felt very Canadian.

Used my Farmer all day at my construction. The big flathead drier helped me to keep some Osb in the right position on the wall until I screw it in place. Also helped the awl to start a few pilot holes for screws the OSB didnt want to let in. Used the saw for little cutting and trimming.

I thought those have been banned, 'cause of mercury. It's been awhile since I saw a brand new one.

Red inside means alcohol not mercury. Haven’t seen a new one of those since the ‘70s.

Used SAKs (Explorer and SwissChamp) to open a couple of tin cans, pick teeth, tweezer out a loose hair from someone's eye, saw off a low hanging branch, pop open a vape bottle and unpick a smurfed shoelace knot.
Pretty standard day, for the most part. Didn't snap any picks as they'd be quite boring and I reckon everyone has seen all that stuff before. Just thought I'd register a post to assert that I do actually use them on occasion...

The old ones are, but as kamakiri says it's alcohol and no batteries that has to be changed

Rainy renovation day on the cabin property
Used the awl on the Farmer X to drill some pilot holes and the saw to smooth out the rough edge of a board.
Used the FX scissors to cut open a bag of gummy candy (for energy  ;))
Then used the inline Phillips on the Explorer to start some long screws pre drilling.
Used the Explorer mag glass to look at an old silver coin I found under the floorboards.
Then used the hook to pull a thin wire through a hole in the wall.

While there are some duplicate tools I’m really liking this EDC matchup.
FarmerX for the dirty rough and tough tasks
and the Explorer stays clean for light duty, grooming and first aid.
Curious to see what you awl think  :salute:

Sounds like a winning combination. The Farmer X is particularly suited to dirty work, having no liners (and thus one less spot for crud to collect).

Today my trusty Ranger helped out, repairing my Dads iMac.
The fan has made some loud noise, so we had to get a new one.
For me this repair was pretty challenging because there are a lot of tiny wires and plugs you have to unplug.
Also you first have to remove the display. Then the logic board with all its cooling stuff has to move a bit to the side to expose the screws of the fan.
