SO, what did you get?
on: December 24, 2012, 03:06:27 AM
As people are posting that they have opened presents already at Christmas parties & family/ friend gatherings over the past couple of days, what have you got so far?

We did an early Christmas today due to my son & DiL being out of town to visit her family on Christmas day. We exchanged gifts from them and to them. So far, I've gotten a Steelers Locker Room sign and a Pearls Before Swine cartoon book. Still waiting for the rest of the gifts from the mrs and the girls.

I did paracord bracelets for the owner of the cigar shop, Stetson, that I frequent and instead of cash for them, she is giving me a super surprise present. The only info I have on this is that she offered me a Xikar Xi3 Havana Collection cigar cutter worth over $250. She told me to choose between that and whatever it is she ordered for me. She did tell me that whatever she ordered was way better than the cutter she offered    My hope is she ordered the Mayan 3D cutter I'm    over!¡!

What she offered

THis is the one I'm hoping for

No pics yet, but I've had a decent haul.  :)  From Rayraychil in the Christmas pool I got a Vic Waiter and an Alox Solo, a Meyerco folder, a Winchester multi, some lanyards, and a LM pin.  From my parents I got some gift cards, a new pair of sneakers, clothes, and a Case CV small Texas Jack with amber bone handles, a lovely little slippie.  :tu:  I've also already converted the Amazon card I got into a CV mini toothpick with yellow Derlin handles and a carbon Opinel #6.  They should be here Thursday.  :)

Terry, Pearls is my absolute favorite comic!  :D  Which book did you get?

Don't have that one yet!  Got a Barnes and Noble gift card here though, so I think I know what it'll be used on...  I've posted this before, a Christmas present to my self a few years ago...  :)

I remember that tattoo Tom!¡! I'm not into skin ink but I have what I refer to as war tattoos from a roadside blast nearly 9 years ago. But I digress, anyone else?

Since my wife and I don't have kids we really don't do much for Christmas- no tree and no waiting for presents.  I got my wife a 32g iPad Mini that she loves and she got me an Angry Birds Star Wars shirt.  We usually don't put a lot of effort into Christmas or birthdays largely because we buy eachother things whenever we see/want them, so there's not much left for special occasions.

Oh, and I also bought myself a nice gift... a DeWalt reciprocating saw.  I already have a nice rip saw but it's cordless and not terribly powerful.  It's nice for portability but it makes short work of the batteries so I wanted a corded one for bigger jobs and backup.  When you want something for big jobs and reliability, you want to go yellow!  :D

Very cool Gareth!¡!

We kinda have the same problem with buying what we want when we see it. We only do the Christmas thing for the kids and their friends. I will be getting the iPhone 5 next week and the mrs will be getting a massively expensive pair of cowboy boots.

Haven't opened anything yet, but I just found out that Sawman bought me a Wenger SI from Tim, it will be here sometime after the new year.

My wife and I focused on the kids this year, and didn't have much left for us.  We got each other some neat stuff(i will get mine tomorrow) but it's light this year.

I got my dad a CRKT S.P.E.W. fixed blade, and my mom got a bunch of huckleberry confections like jam and chapstick.  She loves that stuff.  I got my wife a new purse and wallet, and a CD that I know she loves.

The following MTs were delivered by our Postie the last working day before Christmas, so I guess they count as Xmas presents  (they were overdue, so I was relieved when they finally arrived).

SOG CrossGrips TiNi and SS
SOG Micro Toolclip (yellow, Japan-Seki version)
SOG SwitchPlier
Paladin (by SOG) PowerPlay PT-525
Case Fixxit
Sheffield Crocodile (el-cheapo copy of the Kershaw A100)
Vise-Grip 6LC Toolboxes (the locking pliers MT that look like leg irons)
Schrade Tough Tool (proper USA version, it really showed up the Taylor China one for the total POS it is)
LM Juice XE6

I was pleasantly surprised to find a 1/4 square to 1/4 hex adapter socket at the bottom of the PT-525 sheath

Sorry, no photos as I'm technologically challenged, but they are stock standard, so all the same as the rest you see on here  Except one of the CRossGrip TiNi has two handles the same so the ruler isn't right. I don't mind a factory mistake like that, adds to the interest, the tool load is correct.

A little money which I'm gonna turn into either boots or something else winter-y this afternoon or whenever the shops are open :D As well as a Lottery ticket which won me a tiny sum.... enough to buy another lottery ticket with a bigger hope for a bigger sum... lol. And, of course, a couple of things I'd ordered for myself, which haven't arrived yet....

* And a Nivea chap stick, lol.

You'd think yelling at Siri would motivate her to work properly!  :P

My wife got an iPad mini and despite not knowing what she'd do with it she fell in love with it pretty quick.

I don't really have anything new to report on my end for gifts.  My wife got me a pile of sweets yesterday but that will probably take me until St Paddy's day to get through.  Also last night I decided to treat myself to an early Boxing Day sale and I got another GoPro last night.  It makes sense to me to have multiple action cameras so I can do something once and film it from different angles rather than only have one camera and have to do it a half dozen times or so to get the full effect!

Well, we aren't quite done yet but we are taking a break for breakfast.

So far, I have gotten a Dallas Cowboys hoodie(Epic, wanted one forever),Cowboys stocking cap, and Cowboys Coffee cup from my wife.

Socks from my MIL, and a Beatbox Beats by Dr Dre from my Mom.  The damn thing is blue tooth so I can play my music directly off my phone, and for a single speaker it puts out some effin sound.

We have some more inlaws gifts to open here in a bit, so there may be some cool stuff yet.  I am almost certain by the shape of the package that my Brother in law got me a Leatherman Style CS or PS.
