Fiskars prices in Europe
on: May 11, 2013, 07:52:58 PM
I was looking at the local offering of Fiskars at a store nearby and was :o when I saw the prices they are charging.

X5 = $52
X7 = $45  :think:
X11 = $75
X17 = $94
X25 = $133

Quite a bit more than the prices I see on the internet. How are the prices in rest of Europe?

Also I've noticed these Mora lookalikes. $15 for knife and sheath/ $40 for the combo with shears.

The shears are OK (nothing more, just OK) but the knife is terrible, flimsy steel, hollow ground and the sheath's pocket/belt clip is thin and weak. :cry:

These Pruning and grafting knives looked OK though, but at $25 a piece I'd rather go with the ones Victorinox has for sale.

Aren't these European made? (Proudly made in Finland on their website ) So they are not being imported from oversees. :think: Why then the oversees prices? :rant:

I think they are a bit cheaper here, but still expensive. They are sold in DIY  shops but nobody really knows the Fiskars brand, so I do not think anybody will pay that much for them.
An axe is an axe and you can get a good one for under 10 Euros.

I bought some bahco (Mora clippers) for 6.90 Euro so I see no point in buying Fiskars.

I would have to go check but those prices sound about right for here as well.  I am not a fan of the look myself but lots of people really rate them as axes.

Here a X17 cost about $99. Fiskars is redicilously expencive here. You can get a hand made wetterlings for the same price.
I do however own a X5 wich I am very happy with.
