I used to love doing that when I was a kid.

4-5 meters salto into the snow. I think I'd break my neck now.

We had some serious dump end of last year, but the heat wave this past few days has melted most of it with no further snowstorm in sight. Not happy about it.

We are expecting up to 50cm (20 inches roughly) on Saturday so if I'm not around for a few days it just means the power lines got too heavy and broke again.

Ya its coming down good here right now. 8 inches on the ground now, and more to come. Just about everything is closed so Im not going out. At least my snowblower can have a workout when it stops.

I just gave my snow blower a workout. Lots on the ground and still coming down. I had no problems taking my son to daycare in the crv, but there were alot of cars stuck on the road. And one loaded transport truck stuck halfway up a hill. Crazy!

We have maybe 3-5 good snowfalls a year here so it's really not worth buying a snowblower. I pay a landscaping company $50/snowfall to come and do my two driveways, stairs and sidewalks, which might sound like a fair bit but:

A) I can get my snow cleared many times before I hit the $1500-2000 mark the snowblower I need for our heavy snow would cost me, and

B) having a contractor means if anyone slips and falls on my property, the contract agency gets sued, not me.

Still going here, shoveled it today around 5 PM, but looks like will have to do it again tomorrow morning. Finally some fresh stuff though so going to slide on some tomorrow and snowshoeing on Sunday so it's all good.

We ended up with about a foot, most of it fell overnight.

The good thing though is that this is the first major storm in the past two years (two hurricanes, one other massive blizzard) that we didn't lose power!

Thanks for those pics- I grew up just outside of Winnipeg and I miss seeing the snowy prairies! There's something to be said for being able to see a hundred miles in any direction!
