It may be because I've seen them a thousand time in the last month but I think the two Toy Story movies are great.

That's the only reason I watch them. My son loves them. He used to be on a "Cars" kick but that movie isn't near as good. It's OK but it got old quick.

I sense a new avatar for somebody somewhere.
My all time faves are...The Great Escape...even the survivors liked it. Red River, probably the best Western ever.John Wayne gave his best performances when his character had a hard edge, almost anti-heroic shading.A Man For All Seasons...loyalty to king vs. conscience----- conscience wins.

All time great film!  It's hard to imagine a film that great could be made in the debased film industry of today.

I happened to watch it again, maybe a month ago, on cable TV.  Then maybe a week ago, I saw the obituary of Scofield, the actor who played Thomas More.  That was probably the greatest role of his life, certainly his greatest screen role.

I hate Spongebob and Barney for that matter. Seriously, I do. Not in a go out and do anything about sort of way, just can't stand those characters. Maybe that's another thread though. ;)

That was one of Wayne's greatest roles.

I loved the general contempt Rooster Cogburn had for both the Judge back in Fort Smith and the Law in general.

"Mr. Rat, this here Writ is for you," followed by a BANG and a dead rodent.

I love True Grit but Hondo is probably my favorite John Wayne movie. I also love The Longest Day but that had almost EVERY actor in it so it's technically not just a John Wayne movie. But in that movie Sean Connery is great. So is Robert Mitchum.

"True Grit" and "The Quiet Man" and "The Shootist" are my favorite Duke movies.

In many ways "The Shootist" was his finest role, if sadly also his last role.

"The Shootist" I believe was John Wayne's Best performance.I believe that he knew that the end was coming and brought that feeling to the screen with his performance.

I tend to like movies that take a somewhat realistic but thoughtfull look at life. Of course I like a good action and comedy too, but my favorites end up being kinda contemplative (at least for me). So, at the risk of loosing any possible manly status, I'm going to say that I've always especially liked "Driving Miss Daisy". A few others on my un-macho list would be "The Straight Story", "Fiddler on the Roof", "Secondhand Lions", and "Cool Hand Luke".

Favorite comedy might go to "Napoleon Dynamite", and my favorite action-type movies might be the "Fugitive" and "US Marshals" pair. I also have a thing for some old Disney cartoons, namely "Jungle Book" and "Robin Hood". The "Rocky" series also deserves special mention...

I'm sure I'll think of a few more later on, but that's what came to mind. :)

My favorite movie series of all time is Star Wars.  I am not much for the new trilogy but I Episode III is a special film for me.  There are a lot of paralells between myself a few years ago and Anakin Skywalker.  So I really like that one.
