Victorinox Technician Limited Edition?
on: January 20, 2013, 08:53:34 AM
Yes, it's a fantasy, but would it be possible to have them make such a thing or do they have rules against making out of productions models?

I'd love to have a light green one with red shield for my range bag 8)

Well they dont make that long screwdriver part any longer so there is no way to make any runs of them.  SB doesnt get Victorinox to make any parts at all, only custom configurations of currently available parts with different scale colors are what they will have available.
PM me or email sakmodder [at] gmail . com if you are looking for custom SAK work.

But what about all those sea oriented types they made? They're not part of the official line up.. or are they?

I'm sure they have 50 long screwdriver parts laying around.

Oh that's true but would they use them up?  They must hold back old parts to do repairs on discontinued pieces too.

You're right though they did limited edition marlin spike runs after they were discontinued I think?

It's not sure they have to use them up though.. i'm sure they have enough to make a limited run for us enthusiasts. The marlin spike requires an additional part as well.. the scale with the right cut out. So from a logistics viewpoint a technician should be less demanding to make.

If they were to do a limited-run Technician, they might as well go the extra step and do the even rarer Technician Plus.

Let's wait until they make the regular one just for me first. :P They can make the rarer one in the second run.

Just last year there was a small flood of old-stock Technicians available.  Keep an eye open and you'll likely find one; although I saw the price rising a bit again on ebay, but a lot lower than they were a few years back.

I also vote for the Tehcnician plus if they are going to make a Limited Ed. since I don't have that one yet.

Oh and I did ask about these at one time and they said... NOPE can't make it... so take that for what it's worth, but I'd say unless they find something in a warehouse, which is not impossible, we won't see any limited editions of these.

They didn't give you an explanation why? Crap.. it would have been one of the best special editions.

Anything with the straight screwdriver is not going to be produced but be aware that Swissbianco is not the only one that commissions special Victorinox runs.

Is this charity to Rotokids Tim's son for his medical condition, store closing? I'll be happy to help, hope he gets better very soon! :)
