I am thinking of spaying my new Jeep entirely with bed liner so no one can scratch it.

I've had a 3/4" rubber mat in my truck since it was new.  Heavy sucker.

Trolley dents picked up in supermarket car parks are the most common damage to my car that I've found. Since I upgraded I try and put the odds in my favour by parking away from the store and parking directly over the white line, taking two spaces. This has worked for the last year and my cars still a1  :D

We found an inconsiderate  parker like this in our local Tesco whilst out and about in the Rovers, I parked mine within inches of one side and my Good Lady parked her's with inches of the other. Oh the fun watching him stamp his little feet and throw his toys out of his pram.

I detest parking like that. ITS ONLY A CAR!

That may be,  but as long as my car hasnt been crashed into with a trolley im not too fussed, and besides, who else parks at the back of the car park anyway? Selfish would be taking up two spaces outside the front doors to a shop.

On the rare occasion when we have to take the one ton dually crew cab pickup to the supermarket, we park WAY far away from the store, because the the truck actually occupies 4 standard (Toyota Corolla sized) parking spaces... :-[

Like there is no need for you to be taking up 2 parking spaces for your precious  car?

:tu:  It's nice to see people that consider others!   Though you could just park on top of 4 Corolla's!

Car is now sleeping in the garage... I noticed several new door dings on the passenger side  :ahhh

When at home I park the Jeep on the road.  It means I don't get door dings, but it also means increased foot traffic next to it and an increased possibility of a passing car running into it.  You really can't win.

Let me be clear that the new dings are definitely from parking in the street/outdoor parking lots, our garage space is plenty wide, and we have columns on one side and shiny newish BMW on the other...

That's good. My friend has a Mercedes but lives in a crappy building where the spaces are too narrow. It's one of (if not the) nicest vehicles in the lot and he's always getting door dings from the guy in the crappy hatchback assigned to the space next to him.

Marry the most wonderful woman in the world, live together in your own home and have a job you enjoy.

Have no worries in the world because you don't sweat the small stuff like dings in the car and you can' t do anything to avoid the big stuff like fire ,floods, famin, zombie apocalypse's, or some idiot running into your car.

Win win.

Bang on indeed. It's all about expectations.  If a hole in the ground by the river is the best thing you can expect, it would look like a mighty fine thing.

I have to say that on a day where it's alternating between pissing down, freezing rain, and hail (with some thunder thrown in for effect...) it was really nice to head down to the nice dry garage, and drive to the underground parking at the shopping center and back again. I'm still a bit weary about the amount of seemingly random posts in such parking structures...  :ahhh

Get used to it- it's a small price to pay for not having to scrape off your car or run like hell to stay dry!

Oh I'm well aware... glad I have a Focus and not a huge boat like some people drive... also my spot is not as bad as some of the others... real  moments in the layout down there... actually, I wonder if the architect actually had a license or even a clue on how to design... apparently street noise carries up the side of the building and you can hear just as well on the 16th floor as our 1st floor flat...

i went from my 2 dr jeep to a extended cab silverado a couple weeks ago...much more comfortable but what a boat. Really got to plan ahead now before parking, backing up, squeezing thru areas. Having that bed though is worth it..went to the dog park down the way for the first time in a while. Dog crates in the back..no stinky beagles up front  :tu:
